3. While the photo doesn't prove anything about the nature of their relationship with Rezko, it sure as
hell isn't photoshopped.

4. Thanks for bringing that up. The photo does *not* prove anything, just like Clinton's words don't
She can say Rezko all day long until she's blue in the face, but it doesn't prove anything about Obama's relationship with Rezko.

7. I agree. I do not think Barack Obama is perfect. He is a human being and, therefore, he has made
mistakes. I am following the Rezko case with an open mind, but I have not seen any evidence of wrongdoing on his part. I accept the facts if they prove otherwise. I've been disappointed by politicians before. Hillary Clinton is one I once believed in so strongly.

5. How about Obama didn't PROTECT Rezko from accountability the way Clintons protected BCCI figures
throughout the 90s and who Clintons have received MILLIONS of dollars since leaving office?

So - Clintons PROTECTED BCCI figures from accountability AND collect MILLIONS of dollars from them now.

And Obama has NEVER protected Rezko from accountability for his Chicago dealings.

And Rezko's dealings have never endangered this nation or its historic record, as the deep-sixing of BCCI matters throughout the 90s did when they came back to haunt us via Bush2, 9-11 and this Iraq war.

8. Here we go again. This particular photograph is not very effective

since it has all the earmarks of a standard political photo-op for local Democratic politicians. If the Clintons are beholden to Rezko like some other politicians we know, I would more than interested in learning about it. Did he facilitate the purchase of their house in New York or do them some other questionable, if not illegal, favor? Or is Rezko so corrupt one is tainted by even being pictured standing beside him? Pile it on. I am disheartened by both our choices, so I'd really like to know.

But isn't a bit sad that as we go into the final phase of selecting our presidential candidate, the partisans are arguing over which of their respective candidates is the more corrupt?

Kind of makes you proud, doesn't it?

:puke:

10. Agree on this point about this pic. There is a back-story, though
Clinton donor named in Rezko trial/criminal indictment

As to the Clintons' house deal made for them, that's an interesting story too.

That thread, short-lived, is locked, as I fired it to the wrong forum, but the NYT story link is there.

"A clever & unusual piece of Financial Engineering "(NYT)

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=2979726&mesg_id=2979726

In hindsight, I kind of have to agree with my critic in the latter link that the whole subject of either of their houses doesn't exactly help either one of them out. Probably just as true about Rezko et al.

Part of me agrees with you, but another part of me says all this should be allowed to run its course and shake out and dry up now, rather than November.

12. I couldn't agree more with your wanting everything to run its course. I no longer

have a dog in this fight; but I don't want us going into the general election with any legitimate surprises at Rove's disposal. Whether it be Clinton, Obama or a compromise candidate selected by the convention, I don't want something coming out after the nomination. We're going to have enough trouble battling Rove's lies. I don't want to be in the position of defending our candidate against a damaging truth.
