all by his lonesome.

Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 04:10 PM by Raine
it happened to me and I was in a state of shock ... after I came to my senses it was different but at first you can't think. I don't believe I would've stood there though. I couldn't stand the sight of him and didn't want to be anywhere near him. I figure though the political wives must be used to being stuck out front and used for PR all the time so they do it as routine even when so hurt and numb.

PS... We aren't together now, I later dumped his sorry ass. :-)

It can't be easy to smile or be supportive at times like this, for any wife and that includes Hillary Clinton. It takes dignity and grace.

7. I always feel sorry for the wives - and I always wonder what motivates
them not to kick the guy in the ass at the end of the news conference. I'm especially sorry for wives who have had husbands involved with prostitutes and hit and run sex. Not only are they publicly humiliated, they've been put at risk for AIDS and STDs.

13. Hmm...
Sorry, I know the sentiment is good and all but I can't support that. I sure as hell couldn't force myself to pretend, being seen next to the cheating scum in a public display of unity. Nuh-uh. There are lines I cannot accept being crossed and that is one of them. Perhaps for something aside from adultery... it'd really depend on the situation, but no way if he couldn't keep it in his pants.

14. Why do the wives have to show up for the press conferences?
It bothers me. Why should the wife have to stand there next to her cheating, lying, no-good husband? Because they're a team? Because the good wife is expected to go down with her husband? Because a woman's status is tied to her husband's?

It's one thing if a loyal partner chooses to stand by her partner. It's quite another when women are coerced into making a public show of support.

33. Her absence would prolong the agony.

Why isn't your wife here? Has she left you? If she hasn't left you, then why isn't she here? How do we know you are telling the truth? Why can't we talk with her?

And, of course, the journalists *would* hunt her down to verify the situation. And then they would be less likely to accept anything she said at face value.

Far better I suppose to excise some of this right off the bat. Though I hadn't really thought it through until you posted the question.

Each woman has to make her own decision in that situation and i think each has their own reasons for making that decision. Hillary had her own motives when she stayed. All I can say is there would be no reason good enough for me to stay. And i do speak from experience.

18. Right - The BI-Weekly "Tammy Wynette Award"
Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doin things that you don't understand
But if you love him
You'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh, be proud of him
Cause after all he's just a man

I mean, it's one thing to be cast aside for another woman, but another man?

You can get over it if he's slept with another woman. But if he's gay...well' you're marriage is over and everyone knows its a sham.
