Wolfson: Obama unqualified for VP (for now)

http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/03/clinton_spokesman_declares_oba.html#more

<snip>

“We do not believe at this point that Sen. Obama has passed that key commander in chief test,” Wolfson said. Later, he added that failure to pass that his failure to pass that test would disqualify him as a vice presidential pick, since a vice president must be prepared to step into the presidency at a moment’s notice.

“Sen. Clinton will not choose any candidate who has not at the time of choosing passed the national security threshold, period,” Wolfson said.

But in an unusual logical twist, Wolfson said Clinton considered it possible that Obama might be able to demonstrate his readiness for commander-in-chief between now and August, when the Democratic National Convention meets in Denver and the party’s nominee must choose a running mate.

“We have a long way to go between now and Denver. And it’s not something she’s prepared to rule out at this point. But certainly anyone who is chosen as a vice presidential candidate needs to be prepared to be commander-in-chief,” Wolfson said.

20. Exactly!
This is.... this is... I cannot find the words, really. They got caught and the spin is just beyond ridiculous. At least, they are willing to allow him to take the test again. Is it multiple choice only, does it have a hands-on component, open book, closed book, how many times is he allowed to try it,.... So many questions, so few answers.

they can't even keep their message straight on high profile topics. Asshole Wolfson doesn't realize that his contradicting his candidate and the ex-President just make his candidate and the ex-Prez look bad. It hurts her more than Obama.

24. All these Clinton surrogates get caught in contradictory statements. Wolfson says she wouldn't rule
it OUT. Um, he's acting as if OBAMA has been ASKING to be her VP, but that's not it at all. Hillary has been SAYING it could be a good thing, Bill Clinton said it would be an unstoppable force or something. Please. They better get their talking points straight.

Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 05:13 PM by Cali_Democrat
The guy is a real piece of work. I kinda feel bad for Clinton that she has such pathetic advisors working for her. First they say Obama is not ready to be commander in chief. Then the Clinton's float the idea of Vice President for Obama. Then they realize that doesn't make sense, how could you say someone isn't ready to be commander in chief and say they should be VP? Now wolfson says Obama is not ready to be VP, but he could be ready by August?

:crazy:

32. The Commander in Chief test???..sounds ominous...
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 05:47 PM by tokenlib
They have yet to explain this test. Is it like a secret initiation??

It can't have anything to do with common sense--like knowing when to start a war,or staying out of one. Or how to keep neo-cons fingers away from the military toys...
