we had the republican party as the party of corruption, now this. this is another reason we can not nominate hillary. the repukes will use her past non-stop. obama will lead us to victory!!

Spitzer is very high-profile, and a scandal involving a Democrat who used to prosecute scandals reflects poorly on the party. It becomes a "Democratic" scandal. For all the talk by certain people about "post-partisan" politics, parties and their public image still matter.
