In fact, of anyone on DU Skinner is the guy I most want to read from. I wish he posted more often. In addition putting together a forum this successful is no easy feat. Skinner, elad, and EarlG have worked miracles

As far as the moderating goes. I think it could be stricter. I really hope that Skinner will start a discussion after the campaign season about ways to moderate the forum more effectively during primaries, and about the primaries themselves. We are not fulfilling the purpose of DU; In fact we are damaging, not only DU, but to a small degree the candidates and party.

I also understand there was a good reason for allowing more leniency during the campaign season but I think the disadvantages may outweigh the advantages in the short-term and maybe longterm.

Go Dems.

1. You seem to be unaware of the reasons Skinner should be ashamed of himself
But trust me, there are plentious reasons why our chief zookeeper should feel ashamed.

2. Just alert the mods if there if anything really bad
The volume of posts is so great that the Mods need our help and BTW do not tell the person who your alert is about that you have alerted - they can edit their posts and avoid removal or possibly later tombstoning.

3. I alert several times a week on threads that I believe are completely
unprodutive. Rarely do they get removed.

8. I hope you're joking...
The "Shame on Skinner" thread has been up for about 3 hours.

I always root for the underdog. :)

11. I'd like to see a old rule come back into practice
If I recall right, new members had to have a large number of reply postings before they could start a thread of their own.

Sure you can post a lot of nonsense to get there quickly. But that would be a damning sort of "paper trail" of behavior and help make a good decision when considering banning a member.

It might have at least slowed down the tempo in the last couple of months.

My 2 cents.
