How close is Hillary Clinton to turning herself into a joke?
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 09:10 PM by hedgehog
Today it was Obama isn't ready to be President, but he'd make a good Vice President, then it was he's not even ready for that yet, then it was he'd be ready by the convention.

Caucus delegates are distinct from primary delegates. The difference between caucus and primary delegates doesn't really matter because all the delegates can vote for whomever they wish. Florda and Michigan should count but only if they don't hold a caucus.

It's all moot anyways because it's only big states that held their primary in a month ending in an R that really matter. Except during a leap year.

On edit: I almost forgot - Obama will lose all the important states in the General Election unless he runs with Hillary, in which case you get 2 for 1 on the Dream Ticket.

I wouldn't believe she actually said 2 for 1 except that I heard her say it on the Olbermann Report.

She has already done that and is well into Monster at this time.

24. Me too ! The media seems to be snapping out of their phase.. and I think
the sheer number of anti-clinton articles on major blogs are finally sinking in. They tried to play Ohio and Texas (OOPS, Obama won Texas.. has anyone reported this yet?) as big comebacks and I think we were all in shock, but really all she had were some stunningly horrible temper tantrums and negative attacks that kept the cameras on her for a week or so. Its like a car wreck.. you want to look away, but you can't. Eventually, you just drive on by...

Like Bush/McCain is doing to the conservatives.

I had a mental image of the DLC getting ready to follow her off the cliff, like Johnny Wiesmuller on PCP.

The sad thing is that they traded being the gray eminence of the Democratic party for this.

Iraq, and not looking soft led them into complicity with an act that has brought America to her knees economically, internationally, and the biggest third world nation. IWR was not about supporting the troops, unless you believe that the troops are currently better off than they were in 2002.

Murtha's bailing on the Iraq war should have been taken as the official Dem Hawk repudiation of invading Iraq for oil. The defiant and unashamed soldiered on looking tough and talking stupid.

18. This is a classic case of the "Emperor has no Clothes"...
Whereas the Clinton campaign is the fabled "emperor" and their clever strategy is "their clothes". The mainstream media doesn't want to call them on it, even mistaking all of this bamboozlement and sillyness as "uber" strategy. When in reality it is all a big pile of nothing and it's high time someone calls them on it.

In other words they are acting so outlandish that they think this bizarre behavior will be mistook or accepted as shrewd campaigning when in reality it is all just a bunch of stupid bullshit.

However, it usually takes a shrewd young person (aka "Obama's base") to call the adults and all their foolishness (covering for the silly Emperor) for what it is. Usually adults, after being fed bullshit long enough come to accept it or become too afraid to speak out. What is required is the naive honesty of a child that's not quite yet been programmed to accept the status quo to show the adults for the fools they are. This is all metaphor of course, but I hope you get my point.

21. Campbell Brown interviewed SNL's head writer on CNN today. Of 3 possible next POTUSes,
(Obama, McCain, Clinton), he unequivocally rated Hillary as having by far the most possibilities for his staff to exploit. Mayby that's why SNL has gone into the tank for HRC: self-interest in getting hundreds more easy laughs in the future.

guest who gradually becomes angrier and angrier and ultimately keels over in a hissy fit, the lying Jon Lovitz "That's the Ticket" character who strays farther and farther from any semblance of credibility, etc.

Obama seems way too cool and calm for such easy laughs.

28. It's past time
for Edwards and Richardson to try to save the party by turning their delegates over to Obama if for no other reason than trying to save the country from not only a monster but a lunatic.

There seems to be the thought that Obama supporters will vote for Hillary in the end if she is nominated. More and more that is just not true.

31. Regardless of whether she is or will soon be a joke- it's certainly not a funny one.
Pathetic is more like it- tragic as well, for someone as brilliant and promising as Hillary to have downgraded herself to the desperate, despicable character she has become. I was a fan before- a big fan and I was excited about her running a few years ago but not any more. And I know that I speak for many former fans of both Hillary and Bill that the idea of having them back in the White House seemed like a terrific idea- who better to put things back on track after the dark ages of the past 6 years. But now it is clear that I (we) were all delusional and who we thought they were was not based on reality. Sort of like what happens when you fall out of love - reality sets in and you start to see the person for who they really are- rather then who you believed (hoped?) them to be.

Very sad joke indeed.

He is not experienced enough to be president. Some on the job training in the VP role might help, but then again you have to take into account that he isn't really interested in getting any experience. That's pretty clear from the fact that he has been running for president from the moment he was sworn in to the senate.

53. 1 state
She has a TINY excuse to stay in after Ohio. However, With more than a month between Mississippi and the next race she will become in my view a joke unless she wins 80 percent of the vote there. (She needs upwards of 80 percent to even put a tiny dent in Obama's delegate lead which has not stopped growing for months.)

The results of this joke in my view will that Clinton will either exit or become a lame duck. Her donations will likely drop some while Obama will come off very strong and with many people ready to donate.

Therefore she goes into the next race with an even smaller budget. Obama will then likely have the ground game well done by then and the airwaves will fill with his ads. I highly doubt Clinton can win big there.

Then so on to the next states where Clinton's diminishing budget has to run ground game and airtime in multiple states (Some deep Obama territory)

Clinton supporters are moving away from her at a rapid rate. She has failed to keep the momentum from Ohio. Her ground game in Mississippi has failed in my view with Obama scoring big even in the news. Her stance towards obama has completely failed her in my view and given the republicans talking points. More and more of her past is being exposed...

She is very close to lame duck status. Mississippi I feel is her last chance to win enough support to go on. She got lucky with Ohio and RI because these recent 2 states were close enough for her to claim she is still in the race while forcing people to basically agree that they need to be run while she is in the race still.

The next few days will tell us what the path to the convention looks like.
