"Within an hour of Spitzer story, Clinton's campaign website removed news that Spitzer endorsed her"
Clinton declines comment on Spitzer, scrubs campaign site
RAW STORY
Published: Monday March 10, 2008

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Clinton_declines_comment_on_Spitzer_0310.html

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton carefully sidestepped questions Monday about the sex scandal engulfing Eliot Spitzer, her home state governor and political ally.

"I don't have any comment on that. Obviously I am sending my best wishes and thoughts to the governor and to his family," Clinton said, opening her first campaign swing through Pennsylvania, which holds its presidential primary April 22.

Spitzer apologized Monday after he was accused of paying for sex with a high-priced call girl. Authorities say he was caught on a federal wiretap arranging a tryst with the woman at a Washington hotel room.

It was a blow to Clinton, who recently had intensified her criticism of rival Barack Obama's relationship with Antoin "Tony" Rezko, a political patron on trial in federal court in Obama's hometown of Chicago for alleged fraud and corruption. The website Radar reports that within an hour of the Spitzer story breaking, Clinton's campaign website removed the news that Spitzer had endorsed her.

Clinton Yanks Spitzer Endorsement Faster Than A Hooker Yanks... Well, You Get It

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2008/03/hillary-clinton-eliot-spitzer-hookers-endorsement.php

Depending on who you're talking to in Albany and Washington this afternoon, Eliot Spitzer has either already resigned and slinked away to a fortified bunker in the Poconos, or he is going to spend a few days talking with his wife, children, and senior staffers, and then resign and slink away to a fortified bunker in the Poconos.

Either way, Hillary Clinton has already delivered the first of many "You're dead to me, Eliot"-moments, sponging her campaign website clean of all mentions of Spitzer's endorsement last May. Spitzer's name was gone from the website less than an hour after the Times story broke—impressive timing when you consider it took Mitt Romney nearly an entire day to decide to throw Larry Craig under a bus last August.

2. Honestly, I don't see a problem with that.
That's called rapid response. I can't imagine any campaign that would handle it differently.

10. You're right, and as Raw Story points out...
...it pretty much takes the air out of Hillary's Rezko tires. One less finger for her to point.

Show me a politician who's 99 and 99/100ths% pure...just like Ivory Soap...and I'll take you out in my back yard and show you the breathtaking view of the pigs on their nightly flight over my roof.

I'm not "Pro-Hillary" or "Pro-Obama"...I wanted to see John Edwards in the White House. But I will vote for whichever one of them gets the nomination..."squeaky-clean" or not.

:patriot:

4. That's funny. I don't blame them. I'm sure the "redacting" black marker will get
a lot of use in a Clinton administration.

16. This is the part I liked from that cnn link you gave us.
"Meanwhile, Clinton's chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Sen. Barack Obama, picked up the endorsement of two prominent New Jersey Mayors Monday -- Newark Mayor Cory Booker and Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy."

To be fair, though, this was the right move. She needed to do it, since he's now become a liability.

17. "Sending her thoughts" to governor & his family: "Been there, done that."
Bet this was a painful moment of deja vu for HRC. It's been a terrible shock to everyone - whatever possessed the man to risk blackmail, disease, loss of his career, breaking his wife's heart, loss of his marriage & the respect of his children? He has three teenage daughters - and all the while promoting himself as Mr. Clean.
