If Spitzer resigns, does he
stay a Superdelegate?

If not, what happens?

11. I agree, this is now a criminal case
Why someone so brilliant would self-destruct in such a manner, is beyond me. Just like a couple of other pols we know and love. Can't keep their little heads in line.

3. David Patterson
Is already a superdelegate through the DNC. So if Spitzer loses it, then there will be a loss.

It seems like Spitzer would lose it, if Foster became a super delegate by winning IL-14, then why wouldn't spitzer lose it if he resigns? Seems like the same logic that would let a new congressman become a sd, would strip it from an former governor.

It was as a DNC member from New York.

16. No, the office remains vacant until the next election.
Spitzer's resigning is a net loss of one super for Clinton any way you look at it.

20. Since he was an at-large DNC member, it's Howard Dean's call to reappoint someone
Usually, that's voted on by the entire DNC. I don't know if this position will be replaced before the convention or not.

12. If Paterson becomes Governor
he could resign his seat on the DNC, and allow the State Committee to name a replacement. That would create another SD to replace the loss of Spitzer.

I see Paterson filling the seat for two years, Hillary running for Governor (if she doesn't get the nomination) and naming Paterson to fill out her term in the Senate.
