Bill Richardson for Vice President (under either of them)
There is nobody more qualified for the job than Bill Richardson. He has the requisite foreign policy experience and on domestic policy I'd dare say that he has MORE experience than John McCain. He puts New Mexico in the bag, and locks up Hispanic support in the Southwest, where Obama's support (if he's the nominee) seems kind of soft. Richardson is not the most exciting politician, but the VP should never be somebody who overshadows the presidential nominee. He opposed this war from the start.

he's good, he's solid :-)

BTW, he's the only one I've met (in Berlin, NH last August).

3. i like richardson.
he is qualified. my fear. if it's an obama/richardson ticket, would it make people nervous -- an african american and a latino?

4. Well it would get Obama over his problem with Hispanics
but you're right, some might have a problem with that ticket, unfortunately. He'd be a great VP choice though. So would Joe Biden. those guys were my first two choices.

7. MY MAN!
Of course, he should be in the top seat, but he just wasn't glammy enough.

If either of the candidates don't choose him for a top spot, they are completely stupid. My choice would be Secretary of State, but strategically for the Dems, veep would likely be the spot, however neutered, for the reasons you state.

Too bad we as Dems didn't get how smart he was to oppose the war and commit to getting us out his #1 priority. He's smart enough to know that nothing will get done until we are out of there.

10. I think as VP he'd be an awesome point man for energy
I think it's good for the VP to have a project, and as the former secretary of energy, I think he's the guy to wean us off the Saudi teat.

16. he's been annoying me recently
I think he's solid on paper. But he's been striking me as somewhat spineless recently. Why did he back down from his pre-Ohio/Texas statements? Wasn't he about to endorse the candidate with the lead in delegates?
