CHENEY's Crap Energy Bill: Clinton-NO, Obama-YES
Edited on Mon Mar-10-08 10:42 PM by hueyshort
If KO hadn't turned into a shill, he would have jumped on this one:

Clinton was one of the few in the senate to figure out Cheney's
Energy Bill was only a massive giveaway to oil and gas industry.
It did NOTHING to help us toward energy independence.

Obama opted for a bad bill in the interests of his state, over the
rest of the country.

2. "Shill," not "schill." "Schill" is not a word. Not in English, anyway.

I can just see you defending Biden against his vote if he had been the last candidate standing against Obama.

13. Sad isn't it?
Actually I don't think there is even one. Sure isn't like the good old days when you could trust what the journalist reported as fair and balanced news. Everyone is emulating FOX.

18. And BartCop is about the only sane blogger left, too.
Ol Bart still makes sense. He still cuts through the clutter, and still begs us to keep party unity. Although he is almost alone of the Web for prefering her, he supports HRC, but he never insults BO and says he'll gladly support either one. That's how ALL of us should be thinking!

The rest of what used to be the literate left have gone all wingnutty on us. They've turned into the kind of maniacal Clinton-haters they themselves used to make fun of. They seem to have had their brains devoured by some sort of reason-eating ebola virus that makes them see certain things exactly like Gingrich and Limbaugh and those of their ilk do.

Every time I think of Randi or KO or Bob Parry these days, I see that image of Donald Sutherland at the end of "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers." You know the one.

11. Not surprising. Mr. Obama's also cozy with "King Coal"
But don't be surprised if no one wants to listen to Obama's record regarding the fossil fuel industries. I've already found that out.

19. Ah-h . . . but . . . he has been endorsed by a couple of super-duper coalfield delegates . . .
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 03:05 AM by Petrushka
. . . Sen. Rockefeller and Rep. Rahall . . . and THEY know what they're doing. As far as I know, that is! Anyway . . .

Seeing that Obama's $150-billion clean, green energy plan makes provision for corporate welfare to the coal industry, it's interesting to note that he also talks about "...offering incentives to maintain forests and manage them sustainably...." and, thereby, "...the United States can play a leadership role in dealing with climate change." Is he kidding? Has he ever visited a mountaintop removal mine site? Forests, be damned! :grr:

Photos at the following URL give some indication of just what the coal industry does with the forests (and streams) in the Appalachian coalfields.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=115&topic_id=132121

Anyway . . .

The night before Obama gave his pitch about clean coal technology to about 100 invited guests in Nelsonville OH, rumour has it that he stayed in Wood County, West Virginia at a Holiday Inn Express, a newer hotel located between a strip-club and an adult bookstore. ;)

17. Neither candidate is strong when it comes to protecting the environment
or real renewable alternative energies. Climate change will be the biggest challenge ever faced by humanity, yet HRC and Obama's answer is "let another generation deal with it". That's one of the reasons I have no horse in this race.

at this point, I almost could care less care if its one or the other.
Hillary or Obama. Tweedle dee, tweedle dum.

The voting records of both candidates leave much to be desired,
though perhaps not as much as McCain's.

edit to add: I suppose Hillary could do some real damage
if she decides to attack Obama's Yes vote on this energy bill.
