Spitzer wiped off Clinton website
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 08:10 AM by eilen
"Spitzer's name was gone from the website less than an hour after the Times story broke—impressive timing when you consider it took Mitt Romney nearly an entire day to decide to throw Larry Craig under a bus last August."

1. His vote still stands, doesn't it?
Even if he resigns or is impeached, doesn't he retain his superdelegate status?
At this point, a vote's a vote as far as Hillary is concerned.

3. How can his vote stand
if he were no longer in office?

What would most likely happen if he resigned is that Dave Patterson, current Lt. Gov., would take over as Governor and he would give her the vote (he supposedly supports Clinton as well).

4. he is removed as one of her endorsments
I am sure the "new" (as Spitzer hasn't resigned yet) Gov will inherit the SD spot and vote for Hillary.

7. I wouldn't be too sure of his vote
Spitzer's replacement will be Paterson. He might feel the pull to vote for Obama. What was the percentage breakdown of African Americans in the NY primary?

It would also be a perfect way to distance himself from Spitzer.

13. Then who would replace Paterson?
He's also a superdelegate. NY has no provision to replace him as Lt Gov. Either way it looks like Hillary loses a vote.

15. Who would replace Paterson as superdelegate?
He's already a superdelegate from his current position as Lt. Gov. Surely he can't vote twice. Would they just leave one of the spots open?

5. Spitzer who?
Never heard of him. He never existed.

Who do you want answering the phone at 3:00am when Spitzer calls?

"uh...hullo?"
"Hey, this is Spitzy, baby! Who's on tap?"
"uh...wha?"
"What? You don't sound with-it, baby, who is this?"
"uh...za prezznt"
"Oh, crap, wrong speed dial. Never mind"
"uh...zarright"

8. Would did you expect?
A prominent picture on the main page?

If Obama had a supporter who turned out to be in some shady dealings you can bet his campaign would do the same thing. It is the smart thing to do.

9. Not only that, but if they hadn't done it, Obama supporters would be shrieking once again
Virtue must be exhausting.

11. I was just relaying an observation reported in the media
There was no opinion for or against her. No need to get all judgy and defensive. Her online campaign people acted lightning fast.
