CONTACT HILLARY CLINTON TO TELL HER TO STOP THIS MADNESS NOW!
If you think that Hillary Clinton is hurting the Democratic Party by hanging on when it's clear that she is down in all the numbers, please e-mail, fax and call her to tell her so. Let her know what the reason is that you want her step aside and let Obama continue on to fight the Republicans. I was hoping she'd take the high road and do it on her own but it's obvious she doesn't have the Democratic Party's best interests at heart. It's our party, it's our future we can not allow this to continue.

Please e-mail her at the following address and fax the same document to the fax number, give her a call too. We have got to stand up and do it or we'll sit by and allow ourselves to be railroaded.

Post this contact info at other forums and web pages if you'd like to see this madness stop! Thank you!!

and ask him to seriously consider putting her on the ticket. We need a joint ticket of Obama/Clinton-it would be unbeatable in November

6. It's the only way to ensure that McCain loses...
we have to unite as a party NOW, and since she is still behind in delegates AND the popular vote, she should do what is best for the party as a whole. If the roles were reversed, I would say Obama should do the same, it is time!

Why should we unite when we haven't picked our nominee yet? Calling for either candidate to quit is premature.

explains it, "she is only behind if you don't count FL and MI" well I got news for you,
FL and MI for now does not count, until they do, then we count them.

Again, The Clinton's have been throwing this meme around and now gullible are sucking on
it.

It's pathetic. Besides, I'm guessing that everyone is forgetting florida isn't winner take all?

Michigan? The fact that the Hillary camp calls that a win, tells me everything I need to know.

She barely won Michigan, running uncontested. :) Don't count on her getting ANY gain from Mich if they are seated (proportional split), and not NEAR enough to even dent Obama's overall lead from Florida.

But don't let logic stop you, keep repeating the same untrue bullshit til you're blue in the face. But you will come to the realization that those states aren't going to decide shit, one day real soon.

129. Neither Hillary or Barack will have enough delegates to win the nomination before
they go to the Democratic National Convention. That means the superdelegates will be making the decision. Personally, I would have a lot more confidence in Barack's chances against McCain if he could win a swing state or a traditional blue state. So far, he hasn't shown to have that ability. He also seems to rely heavily on the caucus format.

Now I'm being encouraged to contact the Clinton campaign and demand that she quit. What does that say about Barack's chances in November if he needs his one remaining opponent to drop out if he is to win the nomination.

131. I think the problem is...
fear that the Clinton Campaign will coerce delegates of all stripes to flip in their favor. And distaste for the tenor and content of this contest. I don't think anyone can convince either candidate to drop out of the race, but altering facts in order to fit a strategy is not in my opinion a worthwhile tactic.

...Hillary LOST Texas. Please put down the Kool Aid and learn some facts, OK?

The candidate who go the most delegates, wins the state because it is the delegates who determine who wins when they vote at the time of the convention.

Is this sinking in...at all???

got her arms around his (and in turn the Democratic Party's) neck and is dragging it down. It makes no sense that she's continuing this farce but if it takes us getting the message to her then that's what we should do.

ONLY if we have a united Dem party do we have a chance of beating that asshole McCain. The longer this madness goes on, the less chance we have. In fact, McCain is already picking up talking points from the Clinton campaign.

She is behind and she is damaging the party from the manner in which she is running her dirty campaign. She NEEDS to go or we say, "Hello, Prez McCain."

25. Let's all call Obama and ask him why he is so arrogant
that be is insulted to be asked to be VP? He should have politely thanked her and refused the offer. I'd say he's arrogant to act insulted. Doesn't matter whether he's ahead or not. Hillary could win it with the help of the PA primary and the super delegates.

33. Well....
It IS pretty arrogant and insulting for the person in second place to offer the VP slot to the person in FIRST place. Not to mention it undermines his campaign to say anything except "no".

And it does smack a bit of "could you move to the back of the bus so this white woman can take your spot?" I doubt that's what Sen. Clinton meant, but that's how it sounded to me.

Oh, and I'm a proud Wes Clark Democrat too. Took a second look at Sen. Clinton when the general endorsed her, but had to say no. Gov. Richardson was my first choice, not Sen. Obama

37. That's what I mean about everything the Clinton's say is taken
as racist. To suggest he get in the back of the bus by being asked to be VP...is absolutely ludicrous. There is no arguing with people who think like this. So now I will leave this hopeless place and get back to work.

80. As I said....
I do not believe that the statement was made to sound racist.

I can see where people might see it AS racist though.

In either case, it was quite....well, rude for the person in second place to offer a VP slot to the person in first place. I suspect that if the situation was reversed, you would think it was rude as well.

tells the Black person in first place to be their Assistant?

If HRC supporters could get this, you wouldn't be running such a disastrous campaign.

A Summa Cum Laude from Harvard Law School doesn't need to be driving Miss Daisy around.

It's a racist insult at this point.

Maybe the Hell No in this scene will help you understand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6ha7TK13_0

Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 05:05 PM by Catherina
or are you just tossing out the reverse accusation because you don't like the explanation? Ludicrously calling me a racist and plugging your ears is a fitting tribute to how HRC is running her campaign.

I guess half of America will be on your ignore list soon.

Don't worry. My feelings aren't hurt. I just googled you + the word racist at DU and got Results 1 - 10 of 2,950 English pages from democraticunderground for xmas74 + racist + obama and Results 1 - 10 of 3,090 English pages from democraticundergroundfor xmas74 + racist + clinton That told me all I needed to know.

It looks like you're happy plugging your ears

Thank you for all the work you're doing convincing Americans that the sooner we part ways with politicians and supporters who refuse to "get it", the sooner people who "get it" can help this country regain some stature in the civilized world.

America's shameful racism was exposed to a horrified world 2 and a half years ago. Keep saying it ain't so but the world knows differently.

Thank you for putting me on your ignore list. It's an honor Miss Xmas74.

...from this old white woman! This is not rocket science...it is merely being aware of what is and is not racial bias and bigotry. 135. You're the ones who felt it was racist...I don't believe that was the intent.
The intent was to help unite the party. She is the senior and more experienced politician...so asking the newbie to be her VP should have been taken that way...not as an insult. He could have politely told her he wasn't interested...that he was running for president...like all the other politicians have said when they were asked that question. But no...You take it as racist! That's stupid! You all are too race sensitive. Everything anyone says is taken from the eyes and head of a race sensitive person. I have never thought any of the things she and Bill are blamed as saying are racial. You Obama supporters are too damn sensitive and race conscious. You deliberately make race an issue for political reasons...not reality. Everyone knows the Clintons have never been racist and they aren't. But claiming they were turned almost all the blacks against them. I call that being racist!

Would you want Obama to quit? The fact of the matter is that nearkly 50% of the voters want Hillary. Are you afraid to let democracy play out? If you factor in the repubs who voted in the primary for BO and will vote for their nominee in the general.........? This BS about destroying the party is just that, BS. The Democratic party needs a re-vamping anyway. Caucuses need to be
replaced with primaries, they are in no way democratic. They make it impossible for too many people to vote, especially the military, the working class, and the elderly.

38. Yes, I've posted in the past that it would take sacrifices in order to make
sure we win in November. I wanted Edwards to win (have done for so long) but was prepared to give my vote to Obama if Edwards' numbers remained low. One of my posts back so many months ago was aimed at uniting the split of voters, United we Stand, Divided we Fall.

And YES if it were reversed and Obama was doing the same things as Hillary, had the same results, delegates, etc. I would be all over that.

...her campaign has become a destructive force. Some feel that it would be good if she would let the party start focusing on the GE.

Personally, I think that a race to the finish is good for the party. Dem's in states like Texas and Mississippi are getting fired up — we actually COUNT this time. Also, anything Clinton throws at Obama will be will look like "old news" if McCain uses it.

Competition is good. :D

another perspective,

I live in Texas and I don't feel the way you do, for the good of the party it will be best she does step down, mathematically it does not look good for her, but hey! because of selfish (minority) Democrats who wants to see this go on, they use the distorted argument that other states must get the chance to vote, while ignoring the acceleration path the party has chosen to self destruction instead of using wisdom.

Really, since there seems no stopping Hillary from doing what she's doing, I was looking for a silver lining.

What I definitely see as destructive (perhaps you do as well), is the increasing emotional investment people are making to Hillary. I'm sure some of us can afford to throw $100 at something just for spite, but I wouldn't give that kind of money to anything — even something I approved of — unless I thought it would actually make a difference. These people are cheering "go Hillary" and I'm wondering, "go to what?"

Enough with the whole "Save Obama. Stop the Primary"

It's not hurting the party to let every state be heard and to let the convention be a convention. Obama hasn't won the nomination.

Stop acting like a nazi. The race doesn't end because you think voting and primaries are bad.

How about you write yourself and ask to stop the madness now.

128. I'd actually prefer McCain to Hillary at this point though Obama is my first choice by far
McCain on policy is horrible, but he is much more ethical than the Clintons. I've concluded that the most important thing we can do is rid our party of the Clintons. It's more important than winning this election.

127. I think it is people like you that are hurting the Democratic Party.
People who think they should tell people how to vote.

140. Thanks, I needed that number and didn't have it at hand.
We in NJ are sending a slew of volunteers to our neighboring state of PA to help Hillary win it next month.
