Hey Florida DUers. A question about a Re-Do.
Something has occured to this Obama Supporter that I wanted to ask about. I have always suspected that In a rematch that Hillary would win again. Largely on the basis of her support among seniors and maybe latino support as well.

But it just occurred to me that the demographic makeup of the state maybe different in June as opposed to Late January. How much would the Snowbird exodus have if any?

Woud they have voted in January? WOuld they get a mail-in ballot if it were forwarded to Ohio or ummm (dare I say it) Michigan?

1. If they are residents of Florida who voted
I would say they would have no trouble obtaining a ballot no matter where it has to be forwarded

4. And by all rights they should
but my question really goes to whether or not the exodus shifts the balance a few points or not...

I suspect if they are there on a part time basis there is some question as to residency and also if a ballot would even be forrwared. I suspect that it would not be. Because someone who moveed out of state say to Kansas City would will be ale to cast a ballot even though they no longer lover there.

I suspect they donot get forwarded at all. Anyone know?

2. I am a New Yorker
who moved here last June. Even though I voted for Hillary twice for Senator, I voted in the non-counting primary for Obama.

I am not happy about any re-vote here because I feel the state of Florida made it's bed and should lay in it. They not not be given preferential treatment over any other state, AGAIN.

I think they should throw out ALL THE VOTES from here.

3. If the first one doesn't count, I don't think you should cal lit a re-do
or a do-over. It's just a chance for Floridians and Michiganders (or, Wolverines, as Randi called them when she couldn't come up with the word Michigander) to participate in the process.

6. I am not sure....
...as for the amount of snowbirds, it would vary very little. Florida is pretty much an above ground walking cemetery year around.

Alot of vacationers are time sharing inhabitants. They will come and go several times a year and in their times of absence someone is in their place. It is a good question though. Some own property here and own property up north/out west/midwest etc. etc.

If there is a re-do I find it hard to see how they could get ballots out/back/counted just in Florida alone much less send them all over the US?

Just taking the political pulse of friends and family and others Democrats I know I am relatively sure that the next time around will still go to Clinton but by far less of a margin. There were alot of people that did not vote because they knew their ballot would not count. Expect a larger turnout especially with the younger voters if it is a sole Primary vote and not a ballot crammed full of property taxes, dog catcher, you know. Property tax exemptions and such tend to draw elder voters out and while they are there why not cast a vote for the primary candidate?

Young voters tend not to stand in long lines for any of those issues.
