Limbaugh and his ilk have had a bit of a tough go under Bush. The 'thug talking heads became famous under the Clinton administration because of their unrelenting attacks on his presidency. Since Herr Bush took over, Rush has had to toe the party line and spends his time arguing FOR the administration. It's much less interesting to listeners. The conservative radio hosts have gone from being the attack dogs of the conservatives against a Democratic administration to being talking heads spouting party platitudes...and their ratings show it. Most stations carrying these hosts have reported listenership drops of anywhere from 2% to 30% depending on the market. Some of it is listeners getting bored, and others are losses to the blog world, but either way it's bad news for conservative radio.
Another Clinton presidency would give old windbag something interesting to talk about and attack incessantly for the next 4-8 years.
It's a win-win for Limbaugh. If Hillary gets the nomination and loses to McCain, Rush gets to claim credit for bringing the Clintons down and for supporting the party. That extends his relevance a bit. If Hillary gets the nomination and beats McCain, he gets a career extension and the millions of extra ad dollars that go along with it.
