3rd Post: Mississippi Prediction

Obama will win a BIG victory.

The racial divide in voting between the candidates will be one of the worst instances of racial polarization in any election EVER.

It will be a sad day for America.

Unfortunately, Obama's probable abysmal showing among white Mississippians will be media fodder during the 6 weeks of nothing before Pennsylvania.

That's not fair, because Mississippi is a special case. One of the few places where even white Dems can be quite backward, as a group. (Not everyone! As a group.)

(Sorry, but it's a hell-hole. As a child I once had FBI protection against the Klan in Mississippi. It's a long story, but suffice it to say that my Father wanted black people to be paid the same wage for the same work, and it didn't play well. Granted, that was in the 1960s, but something like that makes an impression.)

But fair or not, the media seems to love this racial stuff. So they'll obsess.

Polls had him between the teens and the 20's. 30% would be a respectable showing given Mississippi's history.
