Tonight was the final straw. I'm done with the Clintons.
Nothing can sanitize this anymore.

The pattern that began as early as Iowa and has continued even until today is clear.

In fact, the only real consistent thing about Hillary's campaign has been its racism.

I'm done with them.

I've seen enough.

It's all been intentional.

Vile.

43. Samantha Power?
She is a Harvard faculty member and an author. She does not get "paid" by Obama and has no official position with the campaign. She gives occasional commentary on behalf of Obama and did a few events in NH (less than an hour from Cambridge), but isn't a major surrogate like Kennedy, Kerry, Sebelius, or Napolitano.

49. You can say she's not an "insider" after she's written Op/Eds....
... to the New York Times in support of Clinton's candidacy, and, most recently, in support of the superdelegates voting against their constituencies?

The only discernible reason Clinton supporters would continue to claim that Ferraro "isn't official" is that they're as disturbed by her comments as I was.

56. Power wasn't *official* either.
She at least severed ties with the campaign, rather immediately.

To state that the Clintons can't strong-arm one into leaving the campaign is naive, at best, and most generous.

Nothing in politics happens by accident. The Clintonian laissez-faire response to Ferraro's comments is worth more words than I have the energy to type.

61. OK
Ferraro was able to score, twice, Op/Eds in The New York Times for the sole purpose of pushing the Clinton candidacy. That's the most valuable print real estate in the free world.

I think the two are rather disconnected. But to claim that Ferraro is not a part of the Clinton machine is, honestly, ludicrous.

She reminded me of Peggy Noonan, who has the infuriating habit of being patronizing and faux-motherly. It was her campaign's equivalent of "boys will be boys." And it was revolting.

would not have any chance of being nominated or gotten this far. A white guy just couldn't have done it on his experience, or knowledge. I don't mean that as a put down, it's just fact. I liked him to till I started listening to him. I got absolutely nothing from his message. What's he going to do about immigration, the economy, bringing jobs back, the VA hospitals, a draft, no child left behind, are we going to keep teaching to tests, or test the teaching, how are we going to bring peace to the middle east, what are we going to do about the debt to China, he can jump and down and yell hope and change all he wants but that's not going to put bread and butter or the table.

"A white guy just couldn't have done it on his experience, or knowledge."

John Edwards, a southern, white male, four years into his first-ever elected position, embarked on a presidential run in 2004 that led him to the proud role of being on the Democratic ticket.

Full disclosure: I was a full-throated Edwards supporter in 2004, and am an Obama supporter in 2008, and I don't feel one bit conflicted.

You're going off sound-bites and what other people have said, aren't you? For starters, his speaking style doesn't include jumping up and down. Secondly, there are always specifics in his speeches. Lots of them. "Hope" and "change" are just themes, like Clinton's "experience" theme.

But don't let reality dissuade you from holding the opinions your preconceptions have created for you...

And the Clinton camp accuses us of being cult-like. :eyes:

I guess if she wins I'll take my lead from the black community, but I know if any Republican ran a campaign half as bad as this they'd be beaten into oblivion. Look at what that one macaca tape did to Allen. I can't believe the people defending her campaign. This is really humiliating. I don't know how the Republicans are going to turn it against Dems, but I know they will.
