Hey Rep.King I'm going to dance in the streets when Barack wins too!
Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) seems to think Obama’s heritage and name are cause to squash him from being president of the US. His words:

"And I will tell you that, if he is elected president, then the, the radical Islamists, the, the al-Qaida, and the radical Islamists and their supporters, will be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on September 11” Representative Steve King

I mean who do you think would incite the greater amount of hatred and potential violence toward the US; - a white bully president declaring entire countries "evil", starting wars of aggression and being supported by a group of people whose ranks includes many who think the Muslim religion is synonymous with terrorism; or a black man who is actually related to some Muslims and outspokenly declared he did not want the US to attack a Muslim country, (or any country for that matter)? If I were a Muslim living in the Middle East I would prefer to see the US have a president who doesn't want war against anyone but who also has an intimate relationship with the people we are in such a quagmire with.

And some people think that is a bad thing.

I would not want to feel like the Iranians must have felt up until a few months ago when the cowboy president and his posse, (including John McCain) were actively threatening war with them. I remember the fear that I experienced during that time and I don’t even live in Iran.

So if they dance in the streets if Barack Obama becomes president it is probably because they realize that they are going to be safer and their families are going to be safer.

Doesn't it make sense that the more we fit in with the rest of the world the less they will hate us and hope to destroy us?

I don’t even think this man Rep King R-Iowa really wants peace. He and his ilk want the rest of the world to fear the US. That’s why they label people “soft on terror”. They can’t stand the thought of the US not being the world’s bully. It’s as if they are trying to make up for their own sense of inadequacy by holding on to the idea that, “My country can whip your country’s butt.”

I know one thing. I do not need to act aggressive in order to feel safe and neither do my progressive friends.

Anyway, if Barack wins in November I am going to dance in the streets. And I think people all over the world, from Spain to Australia and from The Ukraine to Afghanistan will be dancing in the streets. But it is going to be a “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead” and “YES WE CAN” dance.

Finally it will not be a war dance. WE ARE JUST GOING TO DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. Oh well did this friggin die because I had the audacity to suggest Barack
Obama's name might be a good thing???

If I remember correctly Muslims represent about 1/4 of the world's population. Of course Christianity has the largest number of adherents and we are representing Christians quite adequately in our government.

No one should be elected to an office because of their religion or heritage. But Steve King said Barack's name is a bad thing because too many other people might feel as comfortable with it as he feels uncomfortable with it. Of course the fact that he feels just fine with people who have "Christian" names is just the icing on the proverbial cake of bigotry.

Maybe I have not made my point clear enough. God knows my head has been spinning in the last few months with this election.
