Sen. Clinton, it's almost time to give up your dream...
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 12:51 AM by WCGreen
I know how you feel...

I prepared for four years to run for the State Senate, worked the ward leaders, the precinct people, the executive committee members, attended hundreds of civic and party functions, represented the party in the local media time and time again...

And then, everyone ran to the new guy...

It took me a while to get over that, almost three years before I was able to let it go...

I know what you are going through...

Granted not even close to the same scale, but I know how heartbroken you must be in private...

It was my dream to serve in the State Senate, it was your dream to be the president of the United States...

Waiting, thinking you were doing the right thing, taking all the necessary steps...

And then having it all pulled out from under you...

It's a devastating time for you, Sen. Clinton, and, to compound it all, excruciatingly long...

I know you don't want to give up...

I know your people don't want you to give up...

There is still a fight, primaries to win, delegates to convince...

But Sen. Clinton, baring a miracle, you are not going to get the nomination...

Take the summer off, recharge your batteries and travel around the country for Obama and Senate and House candidates...

Set your sights on being the Senate Majority Leader...

It ain't the president, but it can be a powerful position if the person wielding the gavel wants it to be...

You can set the legislative agenda for the administration...

Tell me you can't whip those Gop'ers if your mind isn't on running for president...

Sen Clinton, look to where you can do the most good...

Sen. Clinton, I voted for you in Ohio...

I wanted Edwards at the start...

But after he dropped out, I felt as if I owed you that vote even though I knew, as you must have, that the tide was turning...

It's not your fault that Obama has captured lightning in a bottle...

You can't hate him for going after what he wants...

And don't blame the public, they are fickle...

And don't blame the political people because you know as I know that they can be two faced bastards who would throw their mothers overboard if they thought it would get them what they wanted...

No, place the blame where it truly lies...

History dictates that it is time for a charismatic young man to once again lead the party, to lead the country out of the morass we find ourselves in...

Sen. Clinton, I always admired you and I always will...

But please, step aside...

Let history takes it's course...

No, going on and on, day after day, night after night, telling someone to give up her dream is what's really pathetic. All in the hopes that she drops out of the race before BO's full involvement in the Rezko proceedings is made public. Talk about pathetic.

31. thanks
A similar land deal made mincemeat out of Duke Cunningham. I think the Obamabots so desperately want Hillary to quit because they fear this Rezko thing is going to blow sooner rather than later. Frankly, I'd feel MUCH better about Obama had he not bought the lot from Rezko; I'll feel somewhat better after the case is fully vetted.

43. No as a constituent of Cunningham's I can tell you that not one element of the
Rezko situation is similar to what Cunningham did. It has been fully vetted. The prosecuting attorney has already completed that process its called a grand jury.

50. perhaps
I'll Grant you that it's not been proven that BO exchanged favors for land, and we know that the Duke's benefactor stood to gain in terms of defense contracts, given the Duke's committee responsibilities. Still, Rezko is the worse kind of slime, and BO's purchasing land from him for less than market value is suspicious. I hope you're right, that this whole matter has been fully vetted, and nothing untoward will surface. Still, I can't help but notice that most Obamatons automatically counter with Whitewater, Hsu, etc and forget to mention that the Clintons were bombarded with dozens of frivolous lawsuits, some of which probably continue to this day. I welcome any and all investigation into the Rezko case. If Obama's dirty, I think he should be given the same treatment as the Duke.

As far as I know, there ain't nuthin' there.

32. I'm an Obama supporter, but this makes me feel sad
It almost makes me feel guilty, just like she did when she made that seemingly valedictory statement at the end of the Texas debate.

I am a woman and I support Obama but every now and then I remember why I used to idolize Hillary when I was little. Every now and then I feel a twinge of guilt that I am supporting another candidate when she's the first woman with a real chance to become president. Her valedictory at the end of the Texas debate tugged at my heartstrings a little, and if she hadn't followed that up with the kitchen sink strategy I might have had second thoughts.

This has been tragic and it hurts my to see what's happening to her. This is politics and I can't support her politically but it still hurts to see this happen. I wish Hillary had played her hand differently and listened to all of us these last 3 years. I hope, for her sake, that she steps aside so this doesn't overshadow her other accomplishments when they write the history books.

Awesome post. You really touch on the emotional difficulty that Mrs. Clinton must be going through.

60. That was so nicely written, I'm thinking of how I felt after Edwards dropped out,
misery.

I'm sorry you didn't win your race (assuming that you didn't). Politics stinks when you're in there to really do good and make a difference.

67. Hillary isn't going to do it. She's taking this all the way to the convention.
I wish it wasn't the case, but she is not going anywhere for months.

70. Oh well...
Obama seems unfazed by it all. He just heads on down to the next contest and the next one and the next one... erasing 20 point leads as he goes. Bill Clinton said Hillary won Ohio and Texas handily. I hardly characterize losing more delegates as she did in Texas, "handily," but whatev.

78. I say let Obama have it
Clinton, Obama or McCain will have one hell of time making this country right again. It's going to take a miracle. I'm a Hillary supporter but the mess we're in now will take more than Obama to fix it. And the world issues won't go away either. Let him have his try. There's less boo hooing in the baby wards of hospitals. No one can make me believe any different anymore. Sorry fellow Hillary supporters but that's the way I feel regarding this messed-up crappy election.

81. Maybe NOT! when word gets around about this!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAYe7MT5BxM

This video of Barack Obama's preacher, Jeremiah Wright spewing nasty racist slogans from the pulpit. How could someone affiliate with his kind for 20 years and not be like minded?

See the video...it will shake you up just like it did me...I was an Obama supporter until seeing this.

82. Hillary's dream is turning out to be the worst
friggen nightmare the democratic party has ever had! By the time she is done, she will have mortally wounded the Obama campaign in the GE.

Hillary's good friend McCain will waltz into the white house and start the war preparations against Iran, cut taxes on the rich again and ready the final push against Social Security and Medicare.

Hillary's dream = 4 more years of George Bush! Hell, we should be in the Great Depression 2 by then!

But fight on Hillary!!!:sarcasm::puke:
