Great Kos find: Ferraro said the same CRAP 20 YEARS AGO!

Ferraro's long history of this crap
by kos

Tue Mar 11, 2008 at 06:12:07 PM PDT

Okay, I'm convinced. Geraldine Ferraro is a bona fide racist. April 15, 1988, Washington Post:

And former representative Geraldine A. Ferraro (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that because of his "radical" views, "if Jesse Jackson were not black, he wouldn't be in the race."

Asked about this at a campaign stop in Buffalo, Jackson at first seemed ready to pounce fiercely on his critics. But then he stopped, took a breath, and said quietly, "Millions of Americans have a point of view different from" Ferraro's.

Discussing the same point in Washington, Jackson said, "We campaigned across the South . . . without a single catcall or boo. It was not until we got North to New York that we began to hear this from Koch, President Reagan and then Mrs. Ferraro . . . . Some people are making hysteria while I'm making history."

So forget about chalking this up to dementia.

2. Thanks for posting that. I'm sorry I voted for Ferraro.
And it's a shame that she was the party's first female VP candidate. She did not deserve it.

4. I had no idea she was racist.

I guess that's acceptable to the HRC campaign. Penn gave Bill Clinton the
Jesse Jackson words to use early on. That makes at least 3 so far. Who am
I missing?

6. I had remembered her as "mobbed up" as we say in New York
I vaguely remember when she was VP nominee that her husband, John A. Zaccaro, was on the verge of being outed as having strong organized crime connections.

I also didn't remember her spouting that kind of crap back in '88.

5. I think this was sent yesterday to KO and BO campaign. I was willing to give Ferraro the benefit of
...the doubt and think she just said something stupid but after this she's done and so is Hillary with me.
