Good News/ Bad News Re the '08 Primaries
The infighting and acrimony here are beyond ugly, that's the bad news. The good news is, the issues have gone from god, guns, gays and abortion that were all applied with a healthy dose of fascist ideology, patriotic loyalty oaths and bogus terror alerts to keep us compliable. The meaty issues such as the Iraqi War, the Economy, Health care, Education and a Foreign Policy with Diplomacy are back on the table. WE DID THAT! This divided party may not be as divided as some here think. We framed the issues this time around and We Will Win because of it.

I was a Gore supporter in 2000 and a Dean supporter in '04. I know what it feels like to pour your heart and soul into a candidacy and suffer total devestation at the outcome. I still feel the sting, but at some point, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and head to your polling precinct to pull the lever for democracy, because the stakes are too high. SCOTUS positions, endless wars, warrantless wiretapping, secret prisons, torture, homelessness, joblessness, veteran issues, people dying of treatable health problems because they can't afford healthcare and prescription meds.

So, EVERYBODY on this messageboard, let's take a few minutes out to congratulate one another for the phenominal job we did in changing the dialog in this country and framing the issues that Americans care about the most. WE DID IT TOGETHER.

1. Well, since my post has slid off the first page.....
and slipped into du obscurity, I think I will take that as nobody here is in a celebratory mood about anything. So, I think I will pack a lunch and leash up the dog for a trip to the park. It's one of those early spring days, sunny and 70.
You guys have fun and try to play nice if you can.
