I think that Obama is really right about needing to get past the divides of the 60s. I grew up on Sesame Street and Free to be You and Me, but my brothers, who were born in the early 60s, did not. There is a huge generational difference in our social attitudes, and I really attribute it to growing up mostly in the 70s during desegregation. Different generation completely.
