A silver lining in Preacher Flap?
Obama gets to say how much he is a Christian. And if the diehard anti Obama people want to stay ignorant of EVERYTHING, they cannot have it both ways. Either this Reverend is Obama's long time minister or not. And if he is, then Obama can surely be no Muslim. They just can't have that essential logic both ways.

One thing about the remarks Obama has made leave a bit of space into which a wedge can be placed. He said this reverend was the guy who 'brought him to Jesus'. That, of course, can be spun to ask the question: Where was Obama before that?

2. I'm not asking the question
I'm positing that it can be asked by those who know nothing but the rumors and whispers about him.

I knew the answer without your help. But thanks for assuming what I know and don't know.

3. Also we will now see a very careful examination of how the Obama's
have been going to the same Church for 20 years and when Obama got elected to the Senate he still kept his home church and the family

has been very active together in the Church and so on and on.

And the subconscious comparison will be . . . . .

5. I'm 52 and I've never been brought to Jesus.

Does that mean I'm worse than he is? He found a faith or belief that worked for him.

10. My DH of 26 years is in the reserves as a lapsed altar boy.
He is free, too, very free. Lots of Catholic guilt didn't dissuade him.

11. Obama is really interesting in this way. It's not that he's unflappable
but he seems to be 90% less "flappable" than most people. He's a clutch hitter.

For that alone, he is well suited to be our chief executive.

8. Maybe. There's only so much mileage the republicans can get
out of it and it shoots down the Muslim angle (not that I'm against Muslims, the republican base is).
