How do we stop the gotcha game this time?

Though I loathe AOL, that's what we're using right now. First thing I see today is "Old Days Haunt Kerry." That's after I read the New York Times page 1 story about Kerry's VVAW experiences.

Up to now I've been laughing at the GOP digging into his record to find a vote from 8 or 9 years ago, questioning of shrapnel wounds from much farther back, etc.

But I'm getting annoyed that these efforts to find anything from the past to try to smear Kerry with (Whitewater, anyone?) are getting such play. I know the media are whores, but people fall for this crap.

Is there anyone out there who's going to say, "We saw how you wasted our time and money trying to get Clinton, we saw how you distorted Gore's life and remarks, and we're on to you"? Doesn't the Democratic leadership have to call them on this in order to neutralize it?

1. Write a letter to the editor

Send one to the Times. Also, if you do not live in NYC, send one to you local paper.

The repugs are going to continue to do this no matter what, it's their MO. We need to answer back with the truth.

3. I say let them dig...

So far, the best they can come up with, is that old story about the 1st PH and an SUV. They are wasting vast amounts of money and energy, and getting nothing.

Further down the road, will be the time to blast bush right off his ceramic pedestal. Let them eat their own...they can find zilch on Kerry or it would be out there.
