Just a matter of time before we learn all of the corruption that Obama was involved in on this one.

2. You say that as if it's not a matter of public record.
Do you honestly think if there was a big quid pro quo we wouldn't have heard about it? People have been gunning for Obama for years, if the Chicago media hasn't found it covering their local issues, it's not there.

3. Rezko didn't "donate $250,000"
He helped raise up to $250,000 total for Obama's various political races. The campaign has said, "We reviewed our records for any contributions we believe could reasonably be credited to Mr. Rezko's political support and that is the generous estimate we concluded upon." So, that $250,000 does not even all come directly THROUGH Rezko. It includes all contributions they think are credited to his political support: friends and associates of Tony Rezko. All of that money has been donated to charity. NONE of it was collected in conjunction with Obama's presidential race.

The AP has this to say (empahsis mine):
Rezko is on trial on charges including mail fraud and attempted extortion. Federal prosecutors say he tried to use his connections to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to demand kickbacks from companies wanting to do business with state government.
Obama is not accused of any wrongdoing.

HE IS NOT INVOLVED OR ACCUSED OF ANYTHING!

15. And on top of that!
Has Hillary gone through and thoroughly scrutinized her records to see which donations to he 3 political campiagns were/might have been/could have been tied to her supporters who are in jail/under suspicion/guilty but pardoned? I doubt it. But you better well believe that the repugs have those records and will trot them out in, say, early October.

Good for Barack to go through and sanitize everything now.

4. How about Vinod Gupta's bankrolling of both Clintons?
Largess To Clintons Lands CEO In Lawsuit
Case Is a Window On Couple's Ties

By Matthew Mosk and John Solomon
Washington Post Staff Writers
Saturday, May 26, 2007; A01

For the past four years, the Clintons have jetted around on Vinod Gupta's corporate plane, to Switzerland, Hawaii, Jamaica, Mexico -- $900,000 worth of travel. The former president secured a $3.3 million consulting deal with Gupta's technology firm. His presidential library got a six-figure gift, too.

Gupta, whose big donations to the Democratic Party earned him a Lincoln Bedroom overnight when Bill Clinton was president, has emerged as a key benefactor of Clinton's post-presidency -- and Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential candidacy.

Gupta's generosity toward the Clintons has proved so controversial within his firm -- a major provider of database-processing services -- that it prompted a shareholder lawsuit complaining that hiring the former president was a "waste of corporate assets."

The dispute over Gupta's bankrolling of the Clintons offers new detail about how successfully Bill Clinton has leveraged the inner circle of donors he cultivated during his tenure in the White House to his personal financial benefit since he left office. In addition, it suggests the degree to which Hillary Clinton's political career is also benefiting from those connections.

19. You know, every time we try to point out that Clinton always seems to have...
...a worse and more damaging version of any scandal connected to Obama, you keep calling on us to "focus" on the "topic of the thread". But this is exactly the important point: there is literally no scandal I have seen connected to Obama that doesn't have a much worse analogy in Team Clinton.

Rezko? Hsu. And Rich. And Gupta.
Pastorgate? "The Fellowship".
Spouse distracting from the campaign? Don't even get me started.

A lot of us are sincerely trying to warn Clinton supporters that if she gets the nomination, her media free ride is over: they'll start questioning her experience, her connections to Hsu, Rich, Gupta, et al, her husband's philandering, the library donors, pardongate, hell, they'll probably dig back into Whitewater. This isn't lack of focus. This isn't distraction. This is pointing out that on the question of transparency, ethics, and accountability Obama has shown himself to be much stronger than Clinton.
