Obama: A disturbing pattern of dishonest statements
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 09:19 AM by pathansen
1. REV. WRIGHT: - How on earth could it be that Obama did NOT know about his pastor’s extreme anti-white and anti-American views after attending his church for 20 years? And why does he continue to go to that church? After getting caught, He has finally denounced Wright’s teachings but has refused to denounce Wright himself.

2. REZKO: Obama has previously claimed that Rezko’s campaign funding came to around $50,000-$60,000 and now we find out the funding is about 5 times more, around $250,000.

3. NAFTA – At first the Obama campaign denied that such a meeting even took place. However, according to a Canadian memo, Obama’s senior advisor secretly told Canadian government that there would be no major changes to NAFTA after Obama had repeatedly assured voters that he would do so.

4. OBAMA’S “PRESENT” VOTES – He has explained that the reason for voting “present” instead of taking a stand is because he did not want to offend his Illinois conservative base. Yet we later find out he was in a SAFE district.

5. Initially, he never disclosed his middle name. Someone else had to find out about it.

So, how many more surprises will there be before November? This is really troubling

13. You Forgot Hillary Said She Would Release Her Tax Records
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 09:29 AM by From The Left
And Geraldine Ferraro played no role in her campaign

And didn't support NAFTA

And didn't vote for Bush's Iraq war

And didn't vote for the USA Patriot Act

And didn't vote for a flag burning amendment

That's the best you've got, and all of his stuff is public record.
Maybe when Hillary releases her White House papers or tax returns we'll be able to compare skeletons.

What's really troubling is how many people on DU are smearing our future nominee over weak trumped-up bullshit.

3. just for the record - Wright sounds like the old testament prophets
comdemning the social injustice of the powerful (ie letting the poor starve etc) except generally more mild. Its funny how Americans negate most of the old testament in favor of a shallow verbal only patriotism. I want America to be a just nation and will point out where its not - if I do that in a manner that offends does that make me unpatriotic or patriotic because I expect better from a great country.

20. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are utter bullshit...
It's been out for at least two weeks that it was the CLINTON campaign that had secret talks with the Canadian Govt. As far as mis middle name, do YOU tell everyone you meet about YOUR middle name? His middle name was NO secret - he had to put it on all disclosure forms.

In regards to his "present" votes, read up on Illinois legislature procedures:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18348437

Rezko was a "bundler" of donations. That means he only collected the money.

The Wright story is over. Obama explained himself fully last night on all three cable news nets.

I can't believe an OP so patently false got 5 recs.:eyes:

24. The Dreaded Kitchen Sink
Let's pretend that all of your accusations are true. How does all of that compare to just one thing that Clinton did - aid and abet the attack of Iraq? She cared so little about the truth of the situation that she didn't bother to read the NIE. She was quite willing to spend blood and treasure for perceived political gain.

(And speaking of names... how about Clinton's claim that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary - who was an unknown beekeeper in New Zealand when she was born?)

45. And Obama closed a child welfare office and supported a casino by
mistakenly pushing the wrong button in the state senate.

His house purchase is very suspect. He buys back a small strip of the Rezco lot.Making the remaining lot less desirable for development. Its then sold to Rezcos lawyer who will never develop it because its all Obamas yard.

He takes "no Lobby or PAC money".Which is a lie.And implies he is less influenced by big business when in fact he takes as much from big business as Hillary.
