We are tearing ourselves apart
I'm not the first to note this, and I certainly won't be the most eloquent. But if we lose this election, it will be the Democrats' fault. And I think that that's a tragedy. Hillary is going to have a press conference to milk this for all it's worth, I read here this morning. I won't watch it because I have reached my breaking point.

All I know is that I wish we had party leaders who thought of the good of the country and their party before themselves. Is that too much to ask? I won't be visiting this forum until this latest distraction (and yes, it is a distraction with young people still dying in Iraq and our economy going down the tubes), blows over. If is doesn't, I'll check back in after McSame has been elected.

I don't blame the posters on this forum or the Dem voters. I blame our craven Party leaders.

Good-bye, brothers and sisters, for now. I still consider all of you, Hillary and Obama supporters, to be my Democratic family.:grouphug: We deserve so much better.

1. She could probably elevate her numbers and her stature
by stating plainly that she wants the race to be determined on genuine issues, and urging the media and the public to move beyond tabloid nonsense.

Why don't I expect that to happen?

5. Hillary's numbers will rise on their own.. She's the ONLY candidate qualified for the job..
Obama supporters or BIG MEDIA NEVER asked or demanded Obama be vetted for the job.

Now the blame game begins. The chickens are coming home to roost!

8. Hillary will be going down hard once vetted on her DLC neocon positions
She is not qualified to be a Dem candidate. Hill is more suited to a VP spot with McCain.

Read and learn about the Trojan horse Hillary.

2. I have a feeling it's not so much us
as some repubs helping us vet our candidates. They actually do want to hurt the party so be careful whom you listen to. To me, anyone who wants to see a Dem in the White House next year would not go to such great lengths to rip our party apart. I am always suspect of the real hate and bile filled posts. Just my $.0125, (adjusted for inlflation).

4. But ......
one of our candidates was vetted and supported early on by Ted Kennedy and John Kerry! The other one...everyone knew was going to run for a "second chance."

11. Exactly!
I've felt for a long time that a large part of the acrimony on DU is fanned by stealth posters. Rove has not been sitting around enjoying his retirement and taking up stamp collecting. And he thinks ahead, we know that. It would not surprise me in the least that he had a hundred posters come here long ago and earn their 1,000 posts with normal conversation, waiting for the time they could help turn us against each other (although some of us are doing a good job of that without any help).

3. I've come to the conclusion....
that it's really the same party running things... How else could we have two candidates who are re-fighting the 60's when Bush/Cheney have wrecked the country.

There's no other explanation that something terrible is going on...and figuring it out is the only reason I stay here.. But, at some point I may just not want to know what really is behind this, because it would be like looking into the jaws of the evil.

This should have been the year when we sailed through. Folks are finally awakened to what has been going on...wrecked economy over Bush/Cheney/NeoCon Wars...families devastated...our Constitution shredded...and we are fighting over Race and Gender?

The McCorporate Media and the "PTB" ....their power is AWESOME...

6. I don't think there is as much fighting in real life as there is on GD-P
And I don't agree our party is tearing itself apart. I think after a nominee is decided we will work to get him or her in office. Some people worry too much.

7. I agree completely about the media
Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 11:04 AM by senseandsensibility
which is a bought and paid for arm of the RNC, with rare exceptions However, I do not see the Dem party combatting this in any meaningful way. They have had years to come up with a strategy to fight this because the problem has been apparent for more than a decade. But I don't even see a recognition of the problem from the Dems, let alone a strategy.

9. years...they've known about the media...for sure. Started with Carter..
and the ABC Countdown over Iran Hostages. But the worse has been since Media Dereg in '96. After Gore they had to know. And, nothing....
