Both campaigns have degenerated to a battle of the "ists". Who is racist, sexist? There are no real discussions about the economic toilet bowl we are in, how to end the war in Iraq, how to address global warming, what to do about health care, etc., etc., etc.
So, which candidate benefits the most by avoiding discussions of the real issues that voters are probably waiting to hear and instead engaging in discussions of who's pastor is nuts or whether someone connected (no matter how remotely) is a racist or whether Bill is boinking waitresses at Hooters or Obama is manipulating black people?
In the beginning of the campaign I'd say Hillary would have come out of this shit fight better off simply because she had much higher name recognition than Obama. But now everyone knows who Obama is so I doubt that it would be an advantage to her at this point.
Is this what they want I wonder? To decide the nomination based on who is the most clever with swiftboating?
I have to think the public is going to (if they haven't already) start to get pissed off by all the Democratic infighting and say to Hell with both of them.
Benefactor = John McCain.
We are on a suicide mission and neither Obama nor Hillary can possibly benefit by this sort of garbage continuing.
