Obama and Nader need to sit down and talk
If these two would agree to a pact, that if Obama gets the nomination, then Nader will agree to drop out of the General Election
in order to help insure that the (20 year) Bush/Clinton Dynasty is finally derailed. Nader could possibly get some commitments
from Obama as to what he would push for once elected to the WH.

Seems like a win/win/win to me. Nader wins back the respect of the Left, Obama wins the nomination, the nation wins by setting
a new and better course for America.

Why wouldn't Nader want to do this?

I honestly think Nader despises the Clintons much more than he may differ with Obama.

1. It sounds good on paper, but then why didn't he wait to jump into the race in the first place?

3. Maybe cuz he's an attention whore, or maybe to set the stage for my suggestion
and get much more press in the process, and make a bigger impact.

2. nader
The fact is that if Clinton is the nominee, the Nader vote could be as high as in 2000. Under Obama it will be lower than 2004: negligible.

But I don't see a man with Nader's huge ego doing this.

4. Nader got .38% of the vote in 2004, he's irrelevant

many, including myself, will be looking for somewhere else to go. Fla. and 2000 leaves a bad taste in my mouth though.

5. Nader doesn't represent anything bigger than himself -- not anymore.
It's sad. Nader was once an admirable and influential figure, but his ego spoiled all that.

Obama shouldn't negotiate with Nader. Nader has nothing to offer.

6. few trust Nader any more. An Edwards endorsement would mean more
but nice thought.

Nader has jumped the shark after his ass hatted run in 2000.

8. I totally agree about an Edwards endorsement.
but honestly, who are all the Lefties who see through the Clintons bs, going to vote for??

I still think he could muster enough votes with a Hillary nomination to really hurt Dem's chances of winning.

11. I don't think Obama would be able to get a word in.
Nader would tell him how wrong he was on all his issues, and demand that two hours of prime time a week had to be demanded from all TV stations, so Nader could tell us everything we were doing wrong.

Nader doesn't want "the respect of the left." Nader wants enforced obedience. He is the Tom Tomorrow of politics.

12. Why wouldn't Nader want to do this? Right now? Get himself linked to the God Damn America crowd?
He could go from .38% of the vote to .038% next time if he makes bad-timing, bone-headed moves like the one you suggest.

13. I certainly don't think my suggestion would hurt Obama, and could help
esp. if it were coupled with an Edwards endorsement.

but I could be wrong..

btw - i was sorely tempted to shoot back some equally insulting ("bonehead") comment to you, but decided
against it, since that kind of message generally reflects more poorly on it's sender than it's recipient.

14. Oh, yeah, like you can believe Nader's promises.
He pledged not to campaign in swing states in 2004. How'd that turn out?

If Obama is fool enough to trust him, my opinion of him goes even lower. And I never thought he was stupid.
