I'm so sick of hearing about preaching the politics of "healing" that I could barf.
George Walker Bush, perennial failure, was appointed President by a partisan (guess what, it's MORE partisan now) Supreme Court and he set about dismantling all the freedoms and checks and balances that made this country what it was before he got there.
He (and his crackpot "Project for a New Century" zealots) were already planning to attack Iraq for its oil in FEBRUARY of 2001 (that's why Cheney fought to keep the secret energy meetings under wraps).
He (and his Armageddon lusting religious insane freaks) ignored constant warnings about bin Laden and then he used the attack like his own private Riechstag fire to push a unitary Executive to further the plans of the PNAC creeps and Iran/Contra felons in illegitimate control of the government.
He (and his "we'll show you how we can make sure the government doesn't work for you" corporate whore friends) have attacked every single piece of what we consider to be the "common trust" of our nation.
Republicans need to be replaced, driven from office, and the politics of "god, guns, and gays" completely repudiated throughout the election cycle and by the next Democratic administration (provided Donna Brazile, Raum Emanuel, and the DLC surrender monkeys don't completely hamstring the Democratic Party before then).
What we don't need is some smooth-talking Reagan acolyte telling us we're going to put all this behind us and all get together in some big Kumbaya hug and it's all of a sudden just going to be all better because we say the word "change" over and over again.
It's not going to be alright if we just adjust to the status quo.
We have lost a lot during the past seven years of the Poseur Prince and his PNAC Court.
We are going to have to fight like hell to get even some of it back.
Destroyed civil liberties, government spying, unitary executive, secrecy in government - once in place they are not just going to "go away."
The tax structure in place under the Clinton administration has to be put back in place (better the tax structure under Kennedy or earlier) so we can restore some sense of fiscal responsibility in our government.
I don't hear anything from the spineless already elected Democrats or in the message of "healing" being touted by wannabes to indicate that we are gearing up to fight tooth and nail to take back our government, our civil liberties, our global environment, or our separation of church and state from the nutball religio-corporate freaks that took it from us.
I only hear about healing "division" and moving on.
I'm not moving on.
The Republicans took my country, my civil liberties, my environment, my public trust, my education, my wild places, my wolves, my parks, my sky, my water, my protection from corporate oppression, my political heritage, and the legacy of the founders of my nation, and they burned it all of the pyre of their ambition.
I want it back, and I'm not "healed" until I get it.
