Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland will never be vice president of the United States. There, I said it.
With Hillary Rodham Clinton's shocking come-from-in-front win over Barack Obama March 4, plenty of pundits are getting all hot and lathered talking about a Hillary and Ted ticket.
It's so obvious, folks will tell you - what easier way to pave her way to the White House than for Hillary to nab Gov. Ted Strickland as her running mate? With Ted-lovin' Ohio in her back pocket, Hillary would be assured of becoming the nation's first female president. But as the old Hans and Franz skit on "Saturday Night Live" used to say, "Believe me now, and listen to me later, people." It's not going to happen.
For starters, Strickland tells just about anyone who will listen that he doesn't want to be veep. For a while he was even carrying around in his pocket William Tecumseh Sherman's famous declaration of no interest in the White House and handing it to those who asked.

"Being a governor isn't rocket science. Fix the schools. Fix the roads. Stimulate the economy across the state. Balance the budget. Keep the infrastructure manageable and affordable.
If you can't do those three things, you shouldn't take time off from your job to work on campaigns for candidates who supported killing the northern tier of your states' livelihood in the name of "free trade".Also:
