Obama supporters are trying their damnest to dscredit this story saying all this started with Fox, Newsmax, or worse, Clinton. Just ain't so.

They went looking for controversial statements, and then broadcast clips to make Rev. Wright sound bad.

I clicked on your wikipedia link and find lots of statements and footnotes. but no support whatsoever for your conclusion.

Hannity has been pushing this story for more than a year. There's a NY Times story dated April 2007 about the Fox anti-Wright campaign. Your own OP says that ABC News only bought the Wright tapes "After Wright's retirement", which occurred IIRC THIS YEAR.

So fox evidently got Wright's sermons from the church website LAST YEAR, and ABC bought DVDs THIS YEAR. The timeline does not support your "Just ain't so" conclusion.

IMO, ABC most likely bought the DVDs to get better-resolution copies of what Fox News. was rebroadcasting.
