I guess I need to reframe the question then.
I was one of those people who just rolled my eyes during
the 1990s when the Clintons were being attacked for X, Y,
Z, thinking, "Oh my God, this is all such BS. What will
they think of next?"

Now I find myself thinking, "Hillary Clinton doesn't care
about the Democratic Party. All Hillary Clinton cares about
is getting power for herself. Hillary Clinton will support
John McCain in November if she is not the Democratic nominee.
Hillary Clinton will say or do anything to get the power she
craves."

I hate it that I think about the Clintons now the way the
ReThugs used to talk about the Clintons in the 1990s and I
wonder how many of the rest of us are recycling those old
tapes and thinking, "Hm."

It's total BULLSHIT if I'm not allowed to say that here.

3. I think it's been a crisis of faith for a lot of us.
It's been hard for me too. I, too, used to roll my eyes at the GOP's ridiculous attacks on the Clintons. Now, after seeing how they've conducted this campaign, I honestly have to wonder. Are these the same people who I feel like used to really care about the people of this country?

Here's the real question, though - of all Democrats for the GOP to hate SO passionately, WHY the Clintons? They seem to have just about the most in common with them of any Democrats I can think of, other than Zell Miller.

I have a theory on it, but I'll get into that later.

4. I am rolling my eyes, too.
I am rolling my eyes at some of the ridiculous attacks on the Clintons by so-called Democrats.

And please spare us your theories.

6. "attacks on the Clintons by so-called Democrats"
Sounds an awful lot like "attacks on Bush by so-called patriots," doesn't it?

5. Interesting and potentially relevant psychological research:
According to the research of Drew Western, political partisans -- and especially the smart, well-informed ones -- not only feel better when their brains downplay contradictory political information, they actually get a little emotional "high" when the brain (unconsciously) rejects evidence that contradicts their deeply held political beliefs. In a series of brain scans of political partisans asked to consider contradictory statements by the politicians they supported, Western found that the brain reverted to the comfort zone of its long-held biases -- and doing so actually made people feel good.

7. What will be telling is when the campaign is over and she withdraws
have the poured all the money the raised into the campaign or have they restocked their warchest for future campaigns. Given the $35 million they raised it seemed like the $ 7 million ad buy for Ohio and Texas looked small.

It is rather telling though that a lot of people like you and me that were enthusiastic defenders then even have to raise the questino now.
