Why, outside of DU, the Wright story is pretty much over

Intrade.com Obama share prices, past 5 days:

3/12: 77.0
3/13: 76.2 (-0.8)
3/14: 75.2 (-1.0)
3/15: 71.6 (-3.6)
3/16: 72.9 (+1.3)
3/17: 73.3 (+0.4)


The "crisis"... which saw Obama's share prices drop 5.4 points (a mild blip, actually) in the three days from 3/12 to 3/15 has stabilized and has started to rice again.

For a perspective.... Obama's price dropped from 86.0 to 73.8 from March 3 to March 5... So the March 4 primaries had a -12.2 effect on his share price.... More than double the effect of "Wright-gate".

The small gain the past two days means that Obama has apparently sufficiently answered the controversy. The price is back to where it was after OH/TX/RI/VT.


The net effect Wright thing has had a VERY VERY small effect on "consumer confidence" in Obama winning the nomination.
