I have heard this happen 3 times now on MSNBC
They mention "the candidates" and their views on the economy and Iraq, but they only mention Clinton and McCain. Did I miss something - did Obama drop out of the race (or was he forced out)? Is this is a new ploy to attempt to demonstrate that the only "credible" candidates are Clinton and McCain?

Just asking.

5. My guess is that Obama's campaign has realized the awful impact that Rev. Wright's comments
have made on the candidate and they are trying to pull together their defense. It's a bad strategy but probably the only one they've got at this moment.

I know this is hindsight, but shouldn't the campaign have realized that Wright was a ticking timebomb, that his incendiary statements, so at polar opposites with Obama's message, would have a devastating impact on the campaign, and have done something to defuse the situation a long time ago?

I have seen so many Democratic candidates' campaigns crash and burn over stuff that could have been avoided, that I feel as if this is another replay of the same story, just with different characters and details...
