Obama plans major "race" speech tomorrow ~
"I am going to be talking about not just Reverend Wright, but the larger issue of race in this campaign," he said.

He added that he would "talk about how some of these issues are perceived from within the black church issue for example," he said.

He also briefly defended Wright from the image that has come through in a handful of repeatedly televised clips from recent Wright sermons. "The caricature that’s being painted of him is not accurate," he said.

The speech could offer Obama an opportunity to move past the controversy over his pastor, and to turn the conversation to a topic he'd rather focus on: his Christian faith. But the speech also guarantees that the Wright story will continue to dominate political headlines. ~ http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0308/Obama_plans_major_race_speech_tomorrow.html">RCP

I think in the end, "people" will be sorry they've given Barack Obama an opportunity to respond?

1. OOOOOHHH!
Will he be in his best Preacher voice as he discusses the preacher? And why is it a MAJOR race speech? Wouldnt' a minor one due for a tuesday?

Lordy imagine all the MAJOR speechs he'll have to make if he wins the nomination.

3. Then it wasn't a major one
Although much more timely and relevant as regards the opposition as opposed to having to react to something he felt no need to react to for the past 20 years.

5. We've learned she always just repeats herself: Not a vote for war, it I'd have known then, etc.

9. Obama's not a preacher so I don't get the assertion that he'll use his "best" preacher voice.
I know that Hillary (while being a good/smart candidate) has a voice that grates, but I don't think we should belittle those who inspire because of that BH.

4. Obama's speech in a nutshell:
"Ummm...you know... I believe that the American people are tired of the old style of campaigning, the kind that tears down those who disagree. What the American people want is some hope. Jeremiah Wright is like an uncle. As you know, you don't always agree with your uncle".

Then he'll sprinkle in some references about MLK and the sheep in the crowd will baaaahhh baaaahh in agreement. We won't hear anything that explains WHY he associated and continues to associate with Jeremiah Wright.

6. With Donnie Mc on one side and Rev Wright standing on the other.
As if we can actually believe anything that comes from Barrack's mouth about this...he has repeatedly lied.

12. because if he was so concerned about this issue, he should have given this speech some time ago
and not after the Wright controversy blows up in his face. A lot of people will see it as political expediency.

13. This Is Gonna Be A Huge Test For Him Tomorrow.
In fact, his response could literally break him or skyrocket him forward. I think so many eyes are going to be on him tomorrow and he has the stage in which he could 'knock 'em dead' so to speak. If he pulls it off, it would likely go down as the most powerful moment of his campaign. However if he falters, then it may be the start of a downward spiral.

Personally? I think he's gonna hit it out of the fuckin park.

21. Thank you, operationmindcrime
for supporting a fellow democrat, even though you're a clinton supporter. So many are mean-spirited here and gleeful at the thought of a fellow democrat failing, it's scary.
