Will Hillary even offer Obama the VP spot now?
It is amazing how things can change so fast, especially in politics. For so long it was thought that Hillary would offer Obama the VP spot. Obviously, that have drastically changed.

Who are some good VP possibilities? What about Richardson?

6. Perhaps she can talk about VP selection when she wins the nomination.
Hell, or even if she takes a lead by any metric of primary measurement (delegates, pop. votes, or states won).

But now? That's premature and presumptuous.

11. On the one hand, I don't think she's going to win . . .
Edited on Mon Mar-17-08 04:41 PM by MrModerate
At least not outside the convention (and after 10 or 20 votes). On the other hand whoever the winner is will offer the job to whoever's most likely to help win the general. For Clinton, I think that choice would be easy: Obama. For Obama, not so much.

I also think the division in the party that the press is nattering about isn't nearly as deep or serious as they'd like it to be. It's not as if journalism is a fact-based career, after all.

Will they kiss up and make nice after the convention? You bet. Dems have some serious ass-whuppin' to do and I don't think anyone without a press card has forgotten that.

51. And why do so many Hillary followers want to ridicule a 46 year old man as "inexperienced"?

He proclaims he is ONLY running for the President slot and you proclaim he was running for VP all along!

When did YOU become Obama's "handler", huh?

And why is it that any person who doesn't support Hillary is a "sexist"?? How is that going to play in the general election?

20. Why can't you guys drop some of the diatribe...
... bashing and other things adding absolutely no value to the discussion, and instead turn it toward an issue that actually is important:

Who will the eventual nominee, no matter who they may be, consider for VP? Who, other than our two people who seem to be involved in a Celebrity Deathmatch to get the nomination, would be a good running mate? Yes, each current contender might have different areas where they would need to be boosted by a VP, but if you're so intent on pushing that Obama is going to win this thing, why not say who you think would be a good VP under Obama?

As for VPs who would help either candidate:

The two who were already mentioned I think -- if it was an Obama/Richardson ticket we'd have two minorities who would be able to encourage strong turnout among their respective communities, and Richardson has quite a bit of international experience that would augment Obama's ability to encourage communication as part of foreign policy. An Obama/Clark ticket would help battle McCain's military experience argument and the contention that McCain would be a better CiC than Obama.

Anyone else willing to work with me a bit here to raise the level of discourse?
