Is the candidate you're backing this go-round your second choice?
I don't mean that you came to their campaign when your original choice got out of the race. I mean right now ..... today. Is there someone not in the race that you would prefer over your current candidate?

Please don't take this as a put down of either of our candidates.

And as a corollary ...... did you support your current choice from way back when?

I supported Gore in 2000. I didn't even think about it. No one else was on my mind.

In 04 I supported Clark, but was pleased enough to support Kerry.

I started this cycle hoping for Clark, or, in a dream, Gore/Clark. When he said he wasn't running and endorsed Clinton, I scratched my head. I saw an early endorsement of **anyone** by a man like him (should be everyone's Veep/SoS short list) as stupid and he lost me.

Right now, I am very much without a candidate. In many ways, I envy those of you who are so enthusiastic for one of the two. I don't get your enthusiasm for either of them, but I do envy it.

My first first choice .... one that will never happen ....... Mario Cuomo.

19. Same here. But I'm happy with Barack.
Something to all that hope, and a candidate whose words inspire.

Didn't have anything against Hillary until she unleashed her negative campaign.

Anyway, Barack is my candidate now, and I'm enthusiastic about that.

2. My first choice would be John Kerry
But the more I know about Obama, the more satisfied I am with him as a candidate. I can see why Kerry is backing him so enthusiastically.

4. I supported John Edwards this time around.
I also supported Gore in 2000 and Clark in 2004. I have no horse in this race. I found myself wondering how in the heck we ended up with these two candidates out of all the others that could have done better. I am not really fond of either, but I will vote for whichever one gets the nomination.

17. 3rd for me 2. Kucinich -> Edwards -> Obama
Although I have always liked Obama, I didn't think he would get the votes. He clearly can so I support him 100%.

23. Ditto, but for different reasons.
I wanted the least "Washingtonian" and most progressive candidate. Dennis and John dropped out before my primary, however, so I am left hoping that Barack is trainable.

26. Ditto twice
Same order as me. However, the more I know about Obama the more I like him. This country could do a helluva lot worse than having a Professor of Constitutional Law at the helm.

His principals are clear, honorable and patriotic. I hope he can rise above the MSM noise machine and connect with the hopes and dreams of all Americans.

11. My candidate dropped out and my primary over
I am not all that excited about either current option. I'll support whoever wins since regaining the WH just has to be done. I have the mildest of preferences for Obama for non-political reasons.

18. Maybe 3rd
My first two (who I combined into one - my vote would be based on prior results) were long gone before my vote (Kucinich/Dodd). I began to lean Edwards, but was not fully on board when he up and dropped out. So, now I'm an Obama (insert suffix) and I've become fully supportive of him.

Similar to 2004, I'm now a huge fan of the candidate I ended up with.

20. Gore/Obama was my first choice by far
But without Gore in the race, Obama at the top of the ticket is far and away my 2nd choice. All I care about as far as the bottom of the ticket goes, is that it balances things enough that Obama wins in November.

32. I had a pool of them.
I tried ranking them but the rankings kept changing. They were all that good. It's a shame that the race baiting is tainting such a wonderful primary.
