HA!! TX Dem Party calls HRC "an impediment"
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/031808dnpoltxcaucus.3192a92.html

Obama spokesman Josh Earnest said: "Our campaign agrees that the best way to capitalize on the incredible enthusiasm and hundreds of thousands of new voters who participated in the precinct conventions on March 4th is to count their votes promptly and accurately. We look forward to continuing to work with the Texas Democratic Party to ensure that happens."

Richie said state and local party officials are trying to build on the huge primary and caucus turnout to help Democrats in the fall general election and in 2010.

"We are proud of both our presidential candidates who helped create that turnout. We ask now that the campaigns work with us rather than become an impediment to this extraordinary opportunity to build our party," Richie said.

Caucus attendance represented a tenfold increase over the previous high attendance mark for the party, Richie said. "As expected in any record turnout involving hundreds of thousands of people, there were reports of problems caused by long lines and crowded facilities. These problems are not unique to Texas. Similar problems, in proportionately similar numbers, occurred in pure caucus states like Iowa and Nevada," Richie said.

6. Me, too
For a while, I was wondering if we could bring Glen Maxey back to run for Richie's seat, but these are some very promising developments. Go, Richie!

17. Looks like 35 (w/ 2 of them being Boyd Richie and his wife!)
Best I can tell by Googling there are 35.

Given the grief that HRC is giving this man and the Party that he leads, I'd say there may be at least two of the TX superdelegates in Obama's column (even though this article has them saying that they have not decided yet, it is dated before HRC went bat shit crazy over the TX 2 step and threatened lawsuits)!!

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=87766868

As the tight race between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton persists, the role of Democratic superdelegates is becoming more crucial. 35 of those superdelegates will come from Texas — and two of those from the same household.

Betty and Boyd Richie, have spent most of their 42 years of marriage in politics. In 1976, Boyd ran for district attorney and won. Two years ago, he was unanimously elected as chair of the Texas Democratic Party.

<snip>

They agree that their superdelegate votes should represent what Texans want, not just what they want. As of yet, they haven't pledged themselves to either campaign.
