Obama's Race Speech is a Tearjerker...
I just read it on Huffington Post and wish I could hear it live right now. Hope someone puts it on Youtube later because I was moved by simply reading it!

1. Did he apologize for his preacher saying Natalie Holloway had it coming?

8. The only people I would apologize for would be my children.
I am responsible for how I raised them. I am not responsible for my preacher, my governor or my president.

Makes Hillary look like an insincere politician by comparison.

He is NOT apologizing.

We are all part of our history and who we've met to make us who we are.

So true. I am so proud for exactly the same reason.
Also, I think he is a closet Buddhist now.

He realized the fallacy of many was understanding that nothing is "static". Fundamental Buddhist concept.

36. He didn't apologize because he didn't need to.
What he did do, however, is exactly what he needed to do--reveal this debate for what it truly is, and call out both the retards in the media and Reverend Wright for what they said.

I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community

:puke:

Nice to know that Obama still stands by his race-card playing, divisive adviser. Between this and still keeping Rezko on his T-Mobile Fave 5, he doesn't have a chance at winning much of anything anymore.

Stop frothing at the mouth, breathe a little. It'll get better.

The fact that Obama has to take the time to make this speech at all is testimony that he is in deep trouble.

17. Um, because that's all we need to know?
Just like Spitzer; all the good work he may have done as an AG just went down the crapper since he couldn't keep himself from dropping 80 large on a hooker.

This defines Jeremiah Wright, and by extension Barak Obama as he only dropped Wright as an adviser when it was too politically inconvenient to keep him on-board, not because he disagreed with the message.

41. And if i were to dig up a number of your past posts
and take some specific sections out of context i am sure i could make the perception of you to be something vastly different then what reality is.

The same thing can be said about Wright i think, he has made a few statement that out of context is very bad yes, but some seem to make a lot more sense if you look at what he said before or after the said statements(i will agree that some of em was very very bad choices of words tho), he is however a lot more then what the few repeated clips shows tho which is why i find your view of him wrong

45. They were not taking out of context. Stop whining about this non-point
He meant what he said, and he has said such things for 20 years. No amount of whiny, mealy-mouthed equivocation from the likes of you will change that.

to confront race as an issue.

Obama is a good man; I hope he succeeds in his speech.

I do not consider myself either an Obama or a Hillary supporter.

I support the Dem nominee whoever it may be.

24. No apologies. Just statements of the obvious. The gutter statements
about Hillary and Holloway have received no apologetic sentiments so far. It is just his stump speech with a little modification. Sadly this not going to make it, at least for me.

33. Can we not all take a moment
to agree that racism - sexism - ageism - homophobia all tear at the fabric of our society? This stuff is bigger than which candidate we support - this is about the kind of world we leave to our children. Will we embrace slice and dice politics or will we demand a discussion on a higher plain. Right now I don't care who you support -- if you think racism - sexism and the rest are funny jibes or wedge issue talking points - you're not what I'd call a Democrat - hell you're not what I'd call a human being.

Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 10:36 AM by Seabiscuit
snot ran down my lip, drool dribbled down my chin, pee ran down both legs, gooey poo filled up my pants, my lunch crawled up my throat, and my heaving heart blew earwax out of my ears.

Now I'm so dehydrated I'm glued to my seat and can't get up.

Please, I beg you, someone get me a tall pitcher of kool-aid!
