2. i agree. i can't believe it took this long to hear another speech on race as important as MLK's
"I Have a Dream" has become a piece of history and we need it to be a piece of NOW. we've waited too long for this speech. i can't believe it took this long to meet and exceed the standards of "I Have A Dream."

12. Ever see "All the President's Men?"
I'm pretty sute there's archive footage in that film of Sally Quinn grilling Attorney General Richard Kleindienst about Watergate. Ms. Quinn has been around for a long time.

9. Well, I can think of none better either...
...but I AM partisan. I like Senator Obama. I like Senator Obama quite a lot!

I look forward to a day where we hear an even better speech. That day will be February 12, 2009. The place will be Washington DC. The speaker will be a half black/half white man, known for his brilliance at speech making who happens to be the President Of the United States. The event will be the re-dedication of the Lincoln Memorial on the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln. Now THAT will be a speech!

13. I think we yokels may need to camp out on the White House Lawn
I suspect President Barrack won't mind. (Gee, who was it that did that? President Jackson perhaps? One of our President's invited the nation in and got a bit more than he bargained for.) I believe I'll be lookin' for reservations soon as well, I had not considered that angle. Thanks for that heads-up!

15. I Was Glad Sally Brought Up The Remarks Of Billy Graham
and Jesse Jackson and others. No one ever stepped up to the plate and had to renounce, condemn, or repudiate them.

Sally in one smart lady.

20. not even close
a rambling justification of wright is NOT what i'd compare to MLK. and the bush-like 'personal tale' at the end was just cringe-worthy.

21. I'm embarassed for this country.
It's sad that he had to make this kind of speech in the year 2008. 2008! We call ourselves the greatest nation on earth yet we can't seem to get beyond something like the color of one's skin to come together to save our country from certain disaster. It is a shame.
