And in the midst of this, McCain get some press! Bad press.
Speaking to reporters in Amman, the Jordanian capital, McCain said he and two Senate colleagues traveling with him continue to be concerned about Iranian operatives "taking al-Qaeda into Iran, training them and sending them back."

....A few moments later, Sen. Joseph Lieberman, standing just behind McCain, stepped forward and whispered in the presidential candidate's ear. McCain then said: "I'm sorry, the Iranians are training extremists, not al-Qaeda."

1. While we are on the subject
Lieberman has been present at so many McCain events, if he were a registered Republican we would all assume he was the VP nominee in waiting. I know its years away, but is Lieberman just assuming he is never going to win his Senate seat again? There is no way he can win the Democratic primary for his seat again, and next time around I doubt he would be able to manage the same kind of 3 way race he benefited from the last time. I really would not be surprised if he became the first person to run at the VP nominee for both parties.

6. Well put.
I believe he knows his worth to anyone will end this fall. The Dems will gain seats in the Senate and they will pull his chairmanship from his committee at that time. He will never win another election in CT as either Indy or repub IMO and the Dems will have nothing to do with him. His only chance is to hook up with McCain for a cabinet post as I don't think he really brings much to the table as a VP pick. My opinion is clouded, perhaps, because of my total disdain for that creature.

4. All that needs be done to defeat McCrazy is to get him pissed off
Once he goes off as he's known to do, that will be the end of him. I've even heard retired military leaders say they are uncomfortable with his demeanor.
