The republicans know it ...Does Hillary finally get it ?
The repubs figured out long ago that Obamas words are like bullets. They understand that if they don't make him defend himself, then he doesn't get to pull his gun and shoot them down.

Hillary didn't understand this, she thought she had him cornered, she thought "HA,...Now he HAS to address the issue" ...not understanding that she just gave him a reason to pull his gun and 'shoot her down'

I don't think she knows who she is dealing with, the republicans have placed their 'playbook' on the shef for now, we will see how long that lasts. I know there are many here who think he will be attacked, swift boated, and smeared to death in the GE ...I don't agree, the consequences are to great, the republicans understand that they will only hurt themselves.

And maybe Hillary understands this today.

|Marc Ambinder, even.

Speechwriter Of One

This wasn't a speech by committee... Obama wrote the speech himself, working on it for two days and nights.... and showed it to only a few of his top advisers.

12. No, that's a post from the inimitable Marc Ambinder himself.
It's all over the blogs, you know.

I'm sorry if you find it weirdly disappointing, but Barack Obama wrote today's speech with his own hand.

14. Oh, and here's an article, too.

Obama advisers said he wrote the deeply personal speech himself. They said it was delivered in Philadelphia because of the city's historical significance, not because it is the most populous black city in Pennsylvania, site of the next primary vote on April 22.

For what it's worth, I think his main speechwriter, Favreau, is amazing, I don't think anyone could deny that. But it would appear that Obama wrote today's address without input from others.

It's staggering to imagine what else we can expect to hear from him, in the coming weeks. I look forward to it, personally.

10. Hillary could never WRITE a speech like Obama's tody which means
She knows her limitation; unless a speech writer writes one for her and she practices it well.

15. she could practice till she's blue in the face..
but she could never pull off a presentation like that. few could. Even BIll isnt this good.

Imagine if Hillary could write or had written for her the most brilliant speech on women's rights and gender relations ever done. With her voice, her "presence", her forced emotions.. no way could she move people like Obama. It's not her fault. She is just unlucky to be up against a "natural"

13. Of course he will be swiftboated. Question is can they turn his greatest
strenght, transcendent speeches, into his greatest liability.

she didn't see or read it. We all did, and we know she was waiting with bated breath to read/watch that one.
