10. If the followup events are even half as good as today's...
*somebody* will have to give strong consideration to the idea of dropping out of the race.

4. You're kidding, right?
Why doesn't he just go onto Olbermann and they can put on Edward R. Murrow hats and do puffed up special commentaries together? EVERY DAY! Wow! Wouldn't that be great?

:sarcasm:

6. What I'm thinking is
as good as today's speech was - that tomorrow will be absolutely out of the park: Today was on Race relations, and it's very good but there are alot of Americans for whom race ceased to be an issue long ago (and not just white Americans). This is especially true for younger voters. If you go to major cities -NY, LA, SF, etc., or many college towns, you'll see alot of groups of young people in very mixed race groups - black/white/asian/latino and I get the impression that they really don't give it a second thought.

Tomorrow it is Iraq, it is THE issue (except for perhaps university funding) for young voters, tomorrow he brings it all home and reminds people WHY the GOP needs to go. Tomorrow is not about the primary's or the Clinton camp, it is about McCain and the GE. Today he defused the Wright issue, tomorrow he starts setting the agenda.

8. Iraq is an important issue...
...but I'm looking forward to Thursdays speech on the economy. I hope he hits on his technology platform, because it is one of the main reasons I am supporting him.

17. I agree, but...
I also think (and I'm sure likely agree) that today's speech was so necessary in order to address what has overtaken the spotlight - race. I think tomorrow some people will finally be listening with open ears. And then Thursday's speech on the economy should drive it home.

11. I always love watching my candidate give a speech
I had to work 9-5 today so I didn't get to see it live. Instead I rushed home ASAP and watched the analysis on hardball while I watched the whole speech online. I will admit it in a heartbeat between the affirmation that this speech had given me that I had picked the right candidate, the worry I had felt that the MSM had been deliberately trying to strangle his candidacy in the last week, and the happiness I felt in seeing Obama speak truths that previously I had never seen a politician(or almost anyone) dare say......... I'll admit it I teared up, I frickin cried.

I saw Barack Obama give a speech today so powerful that there was no way members of the MSM would be able to deride it, if only for the fact that once deridden, he might just up and give another one. And no one likes to eat crow, even some people at fox news will grow tired of it eventually I suspect.

12. This speech has pretty much put the Wright issue to bed.....
he basically told the media to put up or shut up. He told them that if they want to talk about race, then let's talk about race. If you want to talk about why Wright said what he said, then let's talk about it. If you want to devolve and harp on the negative, then you're part of the problem and not the solution.
