One big thing missing from "the speech" -- separation

An endorsement of the practice with a statement that trouble ensues when pastors try to become politicians and vice versa.

Hard to do given MLK's use of the pulpit to advance Civil Rights -- BUT in today's light, would have been a ringing reminder of this part of our history.

1. There has always been a fine line of sepeation of Church and state......

The tenets of separation that get confused and blurred.

The founding fathers and the tenets of separation, were not to remove religion from the state, they were to enable religious freedom and remove the suppression and oppression of those religious freedoms.

There is a place for faith in the state, in fact almost all men and women of the state are people of faith, it is when a faith is oppressed in favor of a state sanctioned ideology or faith preferential treatment on a state level, state being the national level here, begins to oppress othe minded faiths that separation kicks in and must be enforced.

Many men and women of faith have brought us from the precipice of insanity and allowed our young country to survive, this includes "men of the cloth".

One of the most notable such men, Billy Graham has not only acted as counsel to nearly every republican President but also acted as back channel envoy between Bill Clinton and North Korea.

Many have confused separation of Church and State to mean the state must be faithless, quite the opposite, it means all men and women of faith should be embraced EQUALLY and without force, or coercive measure of merit.
