CNN: Anyone Else Watching Bay Buchanan Compliment Obama?
Not only did she compliment the quality of the speech but she's crediting him for not throwing the pastor under the bus.

She thinks Obama put it behind him.

AND she called out the press for doing all these polls about "Are blacks voting for Obama? Are whites voting for Obama? Are Hispanics voting for Obama?"

I'm stunned.

I'm shocked.

Gergen also complimented Bay's commentary.

"It's refreshing and more power to him."

33. Gergen is pleasantly surprising me on this issue.
I don't have much use for anyone on CNN (that Jeffry Toobin guy seems okay too, and Cafferty mostly) so hearing this gives me a good feeling.

need those good feelings.

48. me too.
He's always been very fair. The only time I remember getting pissed at him was his insistence that the Democratic party was practically dead election night 2004, and that we would have to do some "deep soul-searching" to discover where we went wrong. Wanted to pop him. But other than that, he's never been very partisan, and I appreciate that.

That is what politics is about. He set the frame. He owns the frame now.

It is not the "crazy reverend". It is moving forward, while understanding race relations.

8. David Gergen, Roland Martin and Bay Buchanan - All impressed and complimentary of the Obama's speech
My mouth dropped open each time Bay spoke. She didn't have one negative word to say.

Only Gergen said that some conservative voices would still roast him. But then he pointed out that Bay's a conservative and she liked the speech.

11. This is how I know... more than any other reason... why this speech is a dynamic-changer...
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 09:50 PM by scheming daemons
Bay Buchanan... as right-wing as they come... was moved by it. She is wrong on every political issue we can think of... but she is an honest person.

David Gergen... who worked for several Republicans AND for Bill Clinton... saw this as the "greatest speech by anyone in this campaign season".

This is a guy who has SEEN IT ALL... from BEHIND THE SCENES.

This is how I know this speech worked. Hannity has been apoplectic and screaming all day...

Barack Obama won the GE today. It's only a matter of counting the votes in November to see by how much.

Face it, most Repugs would sell out their favorite priest for a photo op. The fact that Obama stood up and did the right thing earns respect even from people who have opposing political views.

Honesty and integrity worked.... in a political campaign... OMG......
