Many Hillary supporters treat Edwards with reverence but I do not remember them calling him inexperienced. So why is Obama's inexperience a big deal?

They both had virtually the same amount of time in the Senate. Edwards announced his presidential bid 4 years into his senate term and Obama 3 years into his term. Obama has more experience in public office if you count his time in the Illinois senate and he has co-sponsered more bills than Edwards did in his whole senate term.

Edwards spent his career as a trial attorney and Obama spent his time in the state senate, a university lecturer, and community organizer.

1. Because Edwards isn't black.
And I say that as a former Edwards supporter who switched to Obama after Edwards suspended his campaign.

5. Because he wasn't called inexperienced in 2004....
It was never an issue then so it makes little sense to make one of it in this election year. That's what I think.

6. Edwards has better hair?

I personally liked him in '03/'04. But in '08, I just didn't get it. How many times can one man re-invent himself before people notice that somethings fishy?

7. Edwards had LESS experience
when he ran in 2004 than Obama does now. Edwards had only ever held one elected office when he ran for president, 4 years of the Senate.

I'll leave it to you to speculate why Obama has been treated differently.

8. It's not a big deal. His lack of experience having lunch with
the wives of dictators isn't a big problem.

9. Because Edwards is Purrty!
An old lady said this to me a few months ago, "Edwards sure is a nice-lookin' purrty man".

10. If I recall, Cheney gave him a pretty good pantsing during the election
that basically made Edwards look inexperienced and intellectually naive. I think that the end result was that he came across as inexperienced.

14. I agree. That's one of the reasons I didn't support him--aside from the IWR of course
I always rated Obama above Edwards on experience.

In choosing a candidate I looked at experience, their positions on the issues and whether or not they voted for the Iraq war.

My first choice was Bill Richardson--seems I forgot on essential thing--how they look and sound on television.
