Morning Joe: Scab-bro, continues to bash Obama
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 06:17 AM by 48percenter
Says he doesn't want to hear about 350 years of "black" resentment from that guy in Youngstown who had a Harvard education.

I kid you not. :wtf:

Time to mail blast MSNBC.

I switched over to CNN. :grr:

48. Bosh. Chris Matthews, Dana Milbank, and Karl Rove conspired
to set up Hillary. I see a string of quotes from a bunch of people. I don't see evidence of a conspiracy. I see political BS that passes for dialogue among overly paid talking heads. It doesn't account for the actual political missteps made by Hillary's campaign or Bill Clinton himself. They are not passive in this.

with anyone but Clinton supporters. Also, regarding your other statement, "we" don't have to PROVE anything to "you".

That's another meme that's getting very old.

It's really that simple. She won't/can't be elected and, if nominated, the Repubs will raise more money than ANYONE can imagine for the general election. It really is about ANYONE BUT MCCAIN OR HILLARY. The Hillary Clinton supporters cannot accept that she will lose by 4-7% in the general. It is a fact that lifetime democratic voters WILL vote for McCain, right or wrong.

...that is soooooooo clear. They know they can beat her with McCain and, of course, they are stumping for her. Look at Limpballs...he is right out front about telling the idiots who listen to him to cross over and vote for her...or to re-register if necessary to do this.

If that is not a clue to us Dems to steer as far as possible from her, then even a ton of bricks would not work to wake up some who still support her.

10. The Republicans have treated the American people as though they
were stupid. Even after getting thoroughly trounced in the 2004 elections, they still don't get that the people will rise to expectations if they are set for them. We are better than the mean-spirited, gluttonous bubba image that they so lovingly developed over the last decade. It is an image. Images can be changed. If the image of America is that we are standup, innovative, believe in freedom and equality, then the expectation needs to be set for us to live up to as a people. We are capable of this. We are capable of change. We have changed. And we need a leader that can set the agenda for change. Scarborough and his ilk make their money off of fomenting discord. They need to be shut down.

7. I don't see how ANY candidate can stand these people
They are professional nit-pickers..with 3+ hours a day to pick apart and parse every statement that candidates say..

and candidates must then beg for "response' time, or pay through the nose to buy time..

Clever ruse..

It used to be the job of newspaper/magazine reporters to do this job, but now it's the cable "shows"..and with YouTube etc, their little digs are instantly put out to the masses....and recyled endlessly..

They make no attempt to be unbiased either.. Their explanation is that they "go after" all the candidates.. They DO, but not equally or at the same "temperature"..

9. Joe assumes wrongly that we're like him.
Most of America doesn't think like Joe Scarborough thinks we think.
And he insults all of us when he implies so much. I find it truly offensive
when Joe infers that we are bigots and racists like he did this morning
(and too many other mornings). We are NOT Scarborough country
and thank goodness for that. We are the United States of America;
a place where spiteful smallminded people like Joe are a dwindling breed.
Fortunately, we're a lot more like Obama country than Joe could ever imagine.

this guy his own 3-hour platform to spew his hate? All of us have commented about how he treats the women on the show, his overbearing nature, threats to slap them, shouting over them.. he is overtly hostile and if you watch ANY of the split screens on any of the shows he is on, he is clearly hot-headed and cannot STAND to be contradicted or interrupted.

This was only briefly reported at the time.. and I only vaguely remember it. But I keep fairly close track on the news and this is not a story thats been covered. Thanks for posting this. We all need to remind MSNBC we know and kick this out there again.

As if there is something sacrosanct about Reagan Democrats. Splinter politics. Buchanan even has coined a new phrase today--liberal racism.

Gutter political language sowing fear and hatred. This is what is left to the Republicans. Bitterness and hatred crystallized and lovingly polished.

But your point stands.

Can you imagine what Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech, that so many of these pundits LOVE to quote from, would have been turned into if these same people had been doing the 24-7 instant analysis back then? They would have ripped it apart.

If I were a blue collar guy in Youngstown, Ohio, I would be just as offended by the likes of Joe Scarborough, a former Congressman now raking in dough by sitting on his ass for 3 hours every morning running his mouth telling me that I'm an ignorant, class envious bigot who doesn't have enough common sense to vote for a candidate based on issues.

Fortunately, Barack Obama has more respect for Republican voters than Republican pundits seem to have.

54. Joe is funny as he is always sure he is right.
He sure is a old type thinker. The poor women beside him is usually told to 'shut up' in a nice way. I do not mind him as I think we get the feeling of what the GOP is really thinking. And Pat? Heck he is like my mother in law who thought the Congregational church was a cult.

58. And don't you love how he thinks nothing of talking about the issue of race
with a table full of white people?

Every now and then, he lets a black person come on - but almost ALWAYS paired up against Pat Buchanan or the like. Don't want to get too many flies in the buttermilk, you know.

90. Having lived in the South I think I have known this man
and you will find the same type in the North but I have run into them more in the South. How long was he is Congress any how? He talks like he understand all about every type of voter that ever went to the polls. I like the women but he just talks right over her. She seems to be the person that does think on that show. Joe just sort of talks. It is like a club when he gets the little guy, Tucker, on. I guess it is why these people have talk shows. They can talk about any thing and they think they knew about every thing. Do you think people think they know any thing? I sort of watch as I think it is what the GOP thinks.

'Scuse me, but Obama wasn't a "trust fund baby" and his grandparents were working class.

59. Funny - Pat and Joe and the rest of them have no problem telling us about black folks
They spend a good deal of their time analyzing and lecturing about black people, the race issue, etc., in their little homogenous all-white groups. I'll bet the only black people that Pat Buchanan has spoken to (other than the help) in the last 10 years have been sitting across from him in a television studio.

I sincerely doubt that during the few short hours a day that he's NOT in a television studio mouthing off about every topic under the sun (being the expert on all things that the networks seem to think he is), Pat Buchanan is hanging out with anyone who doesn't look and think like him.

60. I just wrote his show..
I am disgusted by this crap.

How dare him or Pat, try to speak for middle class voters?? BS!!!

They are placing doubt, where one couldn't possibly know the answer to that.

I would have been happy with: Who knows how this will turn out? We shall see.

67. So did I.. I don't think they care. I know they got overloaded with complaints specifically
about Buchanan and here he was again today, ripping the scab off of Wright and spewing hate again. It is dangerous and irresponsible, and I could understand if it was FOX, but its not.

69. I must have missed something
I am not sure why anyone would be suprised that Joe is a right winger and a racist. Myself, I have never been able to watch him at all, as all of that seems instantly obvious. The suprise amazes me, has he somehow implied he is not those things? He is an actual Republican, a former office holder, not a mere registered GOP voter, a Party mover and shaker.
Why would anyone be expecting anything from him but the worst? Why would anyone even watch him? His agenda is to elect Republicans. Always was and always will be. When a pig oinks, that is really to be expected.

71. I think WE still somehow believe that because someone is given THREE HOURS on a morning
show, or any other show, on a major network.. we assume that person is there to guide discussion in a fair and meaningful way. Why do we think that? I have no idea. Scarborough takes his three hours and uses it to shape the world to his bigoted, mysogonistic view and no one says a word to him. Are there people out there who think he is a journalist? Who watches this show.. besides us who are outraged over it? Why has someone like JS been given this much time to shape America's thoughts on ANY subject? Why Pat Buchanan? Why isn't MSNBC just Fox News?

I think it is US, still expecting fairness and being surprised when we get bigotry and bias.

78. I'm contacting MSNBC today
Joe used to be open minded about Obama, but it was like one day he just changed and completely turned against him. Like he got a phone call that let him know to get with the program. Oh great, I have MSNBC on and Pat Buchanan just got through repeating the crap I heard Joe say earlier. Why is on every program spouting the same hatred over and over. I watch MSNBC a lot and I am sick to death of Pat! He is going to cause them to start losing viewers (like this one). Already I won't watch Morning Joe anymore because of Joe and Pat. :grr:

93. Bill Press, Carlson and Scarborough Desparately Keeping the story alive
Bill Press on Air America was still pushing the Rev. Wright story for most of his show. He claims he is unbiased in the primary, but the only person who would believe him is someone who doesn't listen.

It is bad enough that the right wing nuts are trying to make 90 seconds of sermon into the story of the century. We shouldn't have Dems doing it.

This morning, Tucker Carlson and Scarborough were double teaming on MSNBC for the ENTIRE show trying to keep the Rev. Wright story on the front page.
