Has fox been confirmed as the chosen pool control for the Dem Convention.??....
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 06:52 AM by ThatBozGuy
Has this been confirmed by outside corroboration. Or any official release anywhere.

Needless to say this raised my interest when I saw it, but before you tune out to why, because you assume what I'm going to say, read the whole post, There might be a bigger story here.

When I saw it I did a search, to look for information or a confirmation and a very weird pattern began to emerge. The only place I found the info were in blog comments and I mean everywhere, but not at fox or anywhere that I could find. The other weird pattern was almost every post I found was almost identical with FULL CONTACT INFORMATION for the DNC, direct phone lines and email addresses of specific people.

Now comes the thinking part, if this is completely true I can see some point in raising a concern with the DNC directly.

But what if its not true, or even if it is true and there is an organized effort to direct Democrats enmasse to overwhelm the DNC phones
and email servers. Because thats what this will do.

Its like aiming a fire hose into your bathroom sink. Theres no way your not going to destroy the room, the floor probably evey wall and your roof and the result could be analogous to the DNC.

Whats more effective try to rally you troops to attack your opponent, or rally your opponents troops to attack Headquarters.

So now, comes some of the other questions.

Is this a coordinated attack, if it is who would benefit from taking out the DNC communications for the next few days.

If this isn't a coordinated attack why are all the posts so similar in format across such a broad area.

Now that we see that this might be a method of attack, we definitely need to be more attentive to impacts like information waves and fire hose attacks on any Democratic chain of communications.

So again any official confirmations, and any thoughts on this?

1. There doesn't appear to be any mention of this on the convention website
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 07:15 AM by MaineDem
They're pretty good about posting news releases there as soon as they're put out.

http://www.demconvention.com/press-releases/?start=0

And it's not listed as one of the official providers: http://www.demconvention.com/official-providers/

And I would assume all the reports are alike because they're copied from one original source. That source is probably not reliable, however.

5. Right there with you, people stoopid sometimes, but this is all over in comments
But almost nowhere in the Blogs themselves yet. Which points to a completely different point of creation.

People posting a meme or common blog post line such as something they read at kos or even here in a comments field would give it their own twist or voice so to speak, and you would see something posted this much in comments posted all over Blogs first so people could copy it.

Thats not what has happened here, it has gone backwards so to speak, in hundreds of comments and not in blogs yet, although I expect it will be shortly.

7. There is a posting of it similarly in a link here on DU
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 07:29 AM by ThatBozGuy
I have seen it posted in hundreds of blogs (through google search) in almost a word for word format with numbers and all.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5149828&mesg_id=5149828

Now think about this, how do you get thousands of Democrats to overwhelm phones at the DNC for the next 48 hours, then the question becomes why.

Im not saying the poster here is part of a conspiracy, he may just be repeating what he has seen as many will, think about the viral nature of this if it is a directed attack at the DNC, you couldn't plan a better script to do it if you were rove himself.

8. Seriously guys....
this is old news, and it's rather meaningless.

Look into what it really means. It doesn't give Fox exclusive coverage of the convention. It just means they run the camera aimed at the podium.

12. Again monkey, Im not talking about FOX, Im talking about the uproar being a bad thing.
Because these posts Im talking about are trying to get democrats to call the DNC to yell at them about it.

We are on the same side of this.

13. And even that is too much power to give them.
"Hey, look at that booger hanging out of Ted kennedy's nose!
Golly, that's a big one! And isn't his nose red today..."

14. Please learn what this is about
it does NOT mean Fox News gets exclusive coverage of the convention.

ALL the networks will cover it. Fox just owns the camera that will be focused on the podium.
