"Mission Accomplished" with Obama's Immediate Audience - The Superdelegates.
Mission accomplished?

For all the discussion of how Barack Obama's speech yesterday will play in the general election, there's still a Democratic primary underway, and the key players in that one are superdelegates.

And while there's no superdelegate poll, the New York Times editorial page is probably as good a way to take the temperature of part elites as any. And there, Obama succeeded beyond measure:

"What is evident, though, is that he not only cleared the air over a particular controversy — he raised the discussion to a higher plane," they conclude.

Obama presented himself as Presidential - dignified, composed and also demonstrated a deft ability to deflect a swift-boat style attack like a jujitsu master. Mission accomplished.
