Obama cares less about winning....
Anybody who listened to the Obama 'Race' speech for any length of time, that has an open heart understands what I am saying. It was obvious to me that he found Truth, Family, Friends, All Races in America, American Society, Progress, The Future of American Politics and what lies forever in his own heart... more important than winning a political race. He obviously knows what can be at stake if he looses the race, but I can see that he also understands that what he is trying to do can not be done without a core of Truth, Honesty, Openness, Togetherness and Fearlessness. From the beginning of the political cycle, I have been open to seeing who would bring these character traits to the table... yesterday, for me, Obama sealed the deal.

1. Agreed 100%
I don't know if this speech will help or hurt him in the end, but either way, it was the right thing to do. He has done a service to our country by opening up this dialog and framing it in such a unifying way. Win or lose, he can come out of this with his head held high, and I think for that we can all be proud of him.

2. I respect the fact he doesn't throw people close to him under the bus to win
I still haven't had a chance to listen to the full speech but I look forward to it.

4. If that were true
then he would have made this an integral part of his campaign from the very beginning,he would not have incited racial discord against his opponent on the flimsiest of evidence at every opportune moment,he would not have just done a second rate MLK impersonation in Iowa recalling the memories of the civil rights movement to "gin up votes" but would have spoken on the issue itself.

It was only when the Wright scandal broke and his campaign on the verge of collapse that he came out to lecture us on race and racism.

His display of an understnding and depth of knowledge on this issue makes his exploitation of race throughout his campaign all the more abhorrent to me.I have never been more politically disillusioned in my life as I was yesterday.

5. It looks like you were **really** looking for a reason to be unhappy with it.

6. Yeah, I bet he was surprised he'd have to address race at some point in the campaign.
